A favored class for any race means that they can take levels in that class without causing an XP penalty caused from usually multiclassing. So by all technicalities, a dwarf could take 1 level of sorceror and then 6 levels of fighter and not be hurt with the difference in level because fighter is a dwarf's favored class. Is this thinking correct? |
| zorgling2507-12-07, 05:50 PM | That is correct. |

| darth_borehd07-12-07, 10:01 PM | A favored class for any race means that they can take levels in that class without causing an XP penalty caused from usually Absolutely. What's more is that you can take levels in prestige classes and they don't count towards determining if you have a penalty either. |
| Lord_Zeb07-13-07, 02:38 AM | Yes, favoured class is only for Base classes. Also, if one use Unearthened Arcana, one can add more favoured classes by the feat: Additional Favoured Class (see p. 100), which basically gives one one additional favoured class per feat. (Especially good for making the non-standard base classes like Swashbuckler and Duskblade easily managable if you want to multi-class them.) |

| darth_borehd07-14-07, 01:31 AM | Ditto. Please don't take Alexeduardo "serverspace" comments as typical of the majority of users on these boards. Lots of new players get confused about the rules and come here asking for help, which many people here are happy to provide. |
