Favored Class: Fighter and Dex +2 race? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I had a cool character planned out, was gonna be human, but then I realized my stat rolls were unfortunate and I need a +2 dex race to get the feats I planned on.

So now I need to find a race (LA 0 of course) with fighter as the favored class and a +2 dex bonus, anyone know of one?

P.S. I already plan to try to convince the DM to change the favored class mechanic because I think it's kind of dumb that a halfling fighter/rogue levels faster then a gnome fighter/rogue, but there's no guarantee it will work and I won't see him again till just before the first session.

You could go human paragon.

You could play a hobgoblin and take the hobgoblin adventurer feat (not sure which book it's in), which removes their level adjustment.

Aquatic elves from Stormwrack
Snow Goblins from Frostburn
Xvarts (Dragon 339)

Hm, I was hoping for something a bit less monstrous, and aquatic elves wont really work because I'll need to breathe air.

Frostburn says snow goblins have +1 LA.

Where is the hobgoblin adventurer feat? Checked the feat index so it's definitely not a wotc feat, checked google and all I found was a forum post referring to the feat that didn't state what exactly it does or where they found it.

Aquatic elves from Stormwrack
Just like the Acuatuc Eves of the somewhat better known Monster Manual :D

What's wrong with plain old elf or halfling?

Strength/Constitution penalties :D

...and he wants a race with favored Class: Fighter.

Well, he's probably looking for FC:F because he just wants to splash two levels of it without getting an xp penalty, and he wants +dex, which means there's a good chance it's some sort of mobility or ranged or duelist sort of fighter that doesn't rely too much on str, and an only -2 con can be worked around. It's, comparatively, only -1 HP/HD and -1 fort to your average human warrior.

How about Barbarian for a FC? There is a feat called Orc Blooded that grants Darkvision 30' & FC: Barbarian.

Alternatively, play an Xvart, and change the flavor to that of a type of Gnome. Their racial features are pretty similar to that of a Whisper Gnome; call them Quiet Gnomes or what have you.

What's the other class you want to use? Wouldn't "favored class: that" work just as well?

Unfortunately, not a single race has warblade as a favored class.

if u can't find anything else, use the Wood Elf (+2 Str and +2 Dex with no LA are very nice)
Off cource the FC is Ranger

But both humans and half-elves can have warblade as their favored class.

If this is the case...then it doesn't matter what race he chooses. Check out the multiclassing rules again. Classes with less than two levels in them aren't subject to the multiclassing rules.

There is an amulet in the DMG (I forget what it's called) that continuously shrouds a character in clean air. I once had a player who wanted an aquatic elf, so I let him buy a version that shrouded him in water.
