| Kauboi10-16-07, 09:43 AM | Recently I DM'd my group but added a twist to the world in the form of Fera - anthropomorhphic animals. Humans are included as a central races, all other "classic" races are turned into something familiar, with a little play on extra abilities and drawbacks. Here is how I broke them down for the first adventure: Elves = Bird-men (earthbound, of course) called D'nadien Dwarves = Boar-men called Koss Halflings = Badger-men called Varlen etc. Of course, I remove other animal-creatures from that world that may conflict such as Centaurs. Orc are entirely replaced by lizard men. True, not an epiphanic gaming revelation...but it did seem to introduce a new world (of sorts) to my players. |
