Feral Creature question [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-26-07, 10:31 AM I don't know if the feral template has received a 3.5 treatment, but can it be applied to a fey type creature that is humanoid in shape? Like say the killoren from RotW?

10-26-07, 10:42 AM The shape isn't the issue, it's the fact that fey are graceful and can't be brutish and feral. As long as your creature type is fey, you can't be feral.

Not to put to fine a point on it... but I think thats a matter of opinion. Certainly a Redcap can b and IS brutish and feral. Also, I could see a Kiloren going this route.

Fey not being feral sounds like your opnion, not RAW.

10-26-07, 10:55 AM As for feral in general, it is a mean template. But hey, if you can get it accepted or whatever then I don't see why not for fey. I don't have my books on me but, IIRC, I think fey can have it applied to them and it might be very flavorful for the Killoren in destroyer form or whatever it is called.

A good point... and your right, only humanoids and monsterous humanoids can have the feral template.

However... if I may...

You didn't say 'Fey can't have the template becuase only humanoids and monsterous humanoids can have the feral template'. Instead you stated the above... which is DEFENITLY an opinion. There are a lot of other creatures other then fey that can not have the feral template, becuase they are not humanoids or monsterous humanoids.

A Redcap is a fey, and is ALSO quite brutish and feral... so you CAN be a fey and be brutish and feral... and not all fey are graceful.
