And if so, would I have an LA +2 creature at the end of that (barring character class levels and "the feral template should be LA +2, nyah!"), or would he be a 1 HD LA +2 creature?

One of the tables is for total hd while the other is for racial hd. So you will be getting fast healing and dark vision I believe. And if so, would I have an LA +2 creature at the end of that (barring character class levels and "the feral template should be LA +2, nyah!"), or would he be a 1 HD LA +2 creature? LA +2 plus whatever class levels you have.
