Fey'ri friendships [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-10-07, 01:01 AM :confused: OK, I have a DM who is running Fey'ri NPC undercover in waterdeep. My character, a sun elf, is the only one who he has told that he is fey'ri- mostly cuz my guy caught him in his true form. My guy is ok with that, but the DM told me my guy knows about fey'ri, unfortunatly out of game my knowledge is limited. do these fey'ri get along with humans and other elves? he said he would be ok with my sun elf, but I don't know how others will react. I just was hoping for some help.

03-10-07, 01:12 AM If your DM says your character knows abou fey'ri, crack open the book they come from. Otherwise, ask. Assuming this is a "secret", away from the other players, of course.

the creepy laugh of the DM should have given it away- and he said something about killing the wizard and watching our backs...

03-10-07, 01:52 AM Fey'ri are demon/sun elf hybrid abominations. I can't see an elf tolerating the existance of one unless he were evil too.

I have to affirm what some of the others have been saying.

Fey'ri are the end result of some devils (... or it might be demons) enslaving a family/clan of sun elves. The group was attacked and believed destroyed. They cloistered themselves and now the fey'ri breed true, more or less. There are some variance in racial abilities (you get some and then you pick 3 or 4 out of 7 special abilities... I think but I'm not sure). They are a small in number, very clanish/clickish, and are lead from the shadows by some half infernal sun elves. They are usually evil, and their favored class is sorcerer... and that might be the single greatest reason that they aren't more influencial... :D

03-10-07, 03:50 PM That's not as the story of the Fey'ri of Faerūn (the original) goes.

There was a house of noble Sun-Elves of the Family Dlardrageth (I think in the High Forest) who summoned incubi and succubi to breed half-demon-sun-elves to strengthen their own bloodline. These original half-fiends then mixed with regular sun elves and created a very specific type of tieflings which are the fey'ri. Most of them were killed but a few imprisoned and have been freed just a couple of years ago. In the beginning, they where not really that powerfull and just a couple of fey'ri and the two-last half-fiends, but they knew about many hidden stores of magic weapons that have been forgotten by other elves and started to capture other elves to breed new warriors. Their isolation because of the need of secrecy caused a lot of interbreeding and many of them increasingly show signs of degeneration, so new blood is severely needed.
In the Last Mythal Novels, they come out of hiding and apparently try to seize controll over an old ruin with it's own mythal, but I haven't red the books and having red other things of the author, I likely won't ever.

Werent they in a recent set of FR novels?

03-10-07, 11:01 PM But certainly it's possible elves not of the Dlardrageth family have at some point had children with succubi/incubi so there could be other Fey'ri around than the ones in that story, and fey'ri characters don't necessarily need to have anything to do with the Dlardrageth fey'ri. But would they be any different if they were fey'ri born of succubi and another type of elf than sun elf?

It would be great if there were some different tiefling templates based on different fiend types. I've been working on some tiefling and aasimar varieties myself, so maybe I'll just start making template versions.

03-21-07, 01:48 PM Ok, here are the clarifications... the true daemonfey are Sarya Dlardrageth and her nephew Xaplh, not her son as was mentioned in the Last Mythal series. However, most people just use the term daemonfey as a default name for the race. There are several other inconsistencies between the series and actual Forgotten Realms lore, btw. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to PM me and I shall give you as much information as I can.

Yes, they are bred of demons (not devils), hence there preference towards a CE alignment as well as the amalgam (fey'ri) of fey (elf) and ri (tanar'ri). Those that feel an echoing call of the innate good of their elven blood may turn to CN. Up to date, none have been found that are either Good or Lawful. The Dlardrageth family started breeding with demons in Arcorar, which later became Cormanthyr, where Myth Drannor, City of Song was located. They were found out and a mythal was placed over their estate, keeping them sealed in. When it was finally lowered, it was found that Sarya and several of her relatives (a daughter, her son and nephew) had escaped.

There is, as I said, a great deal more lore that I could inform you of, and I have just given you basic informaton. If you are interested in more, just PM me as I said. I hope that this helps you out, friend. :)

03-21-07, 02:00 PM I've played a Fey Ri once. Traveled around with a Paladin. Tryed to stay righteous and do good thinks ... Not extreamly successful, I might add, but at least it was okay to stay true neutral. (Not the druidic neutral, of course)
