no fluff, im just trying to get the mechanics all... happy...

i feel kind-of awkward, 'cause i just started playing with my friends and they designated me DM and yeah. no idea what to do. /endstoryforanothertime/

but anyway, what LA do you think this would have (if any) and tell me if its good or not. thanks!

flavor-wise its a human who had died and got sent back to earth to do something (in its followers) or as punishment (for followers that commit suicide [nothing could be worse for them but undeath, no?])

Undead Scion (human undead)

automatic languages: common plus choice of: celestial, abyssal, or infernal.

medium

+4 wis -6 cha (US have increased wisdom from thier meeting with his or her god, but is visibly decaying)

darkvision 60ft

+2 racial bonus on turning/rebuking undead and necromancy spells (because they understand (un)death more than most)

succeptable to the turning/rebuking of NPCs, but is allowed a will save to negate.

favored class: cleric

not very many abilities but i didnt know how powerful this would be... so here i am. thanks again!

Have you taken a look at YabaTheWhat's Feature Points? They're really helpful when designing new races. I know it's in the Races board somewhere, so you can either look around or Google it.

Just looking at it I can tell you it's gonna be underpowered for even LA 0. -6 Charisma is a massive hit, for clerics too because of turning/rebuking checks. I'm also a little confused about whether it's humanoid or undead.

Final recommendation: This is your first time playing, right? If you want to run an undead campaign, pick up Libris Mortis. It's got rules for undead monster classes, and the Necropolitan template seems like it'd work just fine as a playable race. I don't mean to discourage you from making homebrew races, but if this is your first time it might be better to have someone else do it for you. :)

One in every eight forumgoers is allergic to peaches.

Okay, undead is a powerful trait, it grants all sorts of fun immunities that alone are a minimum LA +2. Unless they're humanoids. I really can't tell, you have undead and the human subtype listed there, so I'm guessing undead.

The ability scores are unbalanced and highly in favor of clerics. We don't care how bad the penalties are for sorcerers for the purpose of balance, we just care how good of a druid the race is. This isn't really a problem, it just means they'll have a higher LA.

What does a "racial bonus to spells" mean? Do they add it to their save DCs? Their caster level? Do they get to prepare that many extra spells per day?

So yeah, I'm not passing LA on this race until you clarify those things. They are undead, correct? How does plain old "Undead" sound to you? Human is a subtype of humanoid, and they're definitely not humanoids if they're undead.

Don't. No point system is complex enough to adequately convey the synergies and overlap inherent in racial abilities.

Charisma is much to low, about 8 points I think. With such a high wisdom score and the reason for it, they most likely are people of very strong personalty, wich would mean actually a charisma-bonus.
It's Charisma, not Beauty.

What? That's like saying you can't have a race with a Strength bonus and a Constitution penalty. They're very observant, but they're also wishy-washy. There's nothing wrong with that.
