| shogunboy09-19-07, 01:46 AM | I am wondering about the website's race infomation about Kitsune, and I'm wondering whats the LA of a Kitsune with the ability to drain con points? Also, if anyone can simplify the webpage to like something like where I can tell what they have (besides stats), that will be great. http://forums.gleemax.com/leaving.php?destination=http://wuzzle.org/~storm/1583/kitsune.html |

| KitsuneSoup09-20-07, 02:29 PM | I don't have an actual problem with the write-up on Kitsune... but I have my questions about the authenticity of the material. Not that the research is wrong per se... but that the information is taken out of context in a lot of places. The "source" material isn't written as an actual thesis, more of a spare-time-like-to-read-about-kitsune thing. If you want your kitsune to be soul-devourers, that would be fine. It would be an interesting method of avoiding dying outside of chikushudo. Kitsune in spirit form did slowly die, and they drew their substance from mortals that were generally creative, much like psychic leeching. They had to be very malicious to actually kill someone doing it, and it took a long, long time. Any case where they just outright killed someone was as likely to be your standard "angry spirit proving it outranks a mortal in the heirarchy", which could be described as a Con drain, but had differing reasons. But kitsune who married lost the ability (and in fact, their primary connection to chikushudo) except in the very weakest way. The question for your campaign is, how often do they do it? Do they have to? Are you going to create a "soul pool" for them? How does that work? Are they like succubi, where they don't really need it, they just love to do it? Or like vampires, where they'll die if they don't? Do they have to have a relationship with someone to do it, or do they just grab a bum on the street? If it's a need, and they need a great deal of time to do it (long term contact, an evening of sex, similar things), then there shouldn't be a level adjustment. If it's simply an attack, the LA would be based on its delivery vector and its magnitude. And people wonder why I eat them. KitsuneSoup |

Kitsune D20 (http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/j/p/jpa117/webfiles/kitsuned20.htm) I didn't like the way the writer did the Kitsune, because its 3.0 ( I don't want to do convert percentages into things like the SR 10% per tail), and didn't like the way it was made. But thanks for suggested the page, and I do have the page saved if I want to play a different kind of kitsune. For the poster on the top of me, I think in my opinion, the con drain should be maybe 1d4? The LA for a Kitsune with the SLA and the con drain should be +3? Besides that, most of the Kitsune info that I found on the link that I gave was close to LA +0 without the SLA and con drain. |
