Finfreeze 04-08-07, 10:15 AM	Well, it's not completely ridiculous—I mean, pretty much every dwarf is a miner/blacksmith/warrior/drunk. So what we're looking at is a race that embodies the geisha concept, but doesn't necessarily exclude other races from being geisha themselves. But personally, I thought we'd see a maid race first. A good third or so of this one MUGEN fighting game's cast consisted of maids (I like Medoi and Ikisan the best), and I heard that by 2020 maids will overtake humans as the dominant race...of the multiverse. Catgirls will be following them, even after all the catgirl genocide movements. Of course, these will be new generation catgirls who have copied a strong maid body to rid themselves of their fatal flaw. Like, they will have copy chips/genes, and there'll be a prototype new generation catgirl that we will be able to play as because most of the other catgirls will be rebelling against the humans because humans are inferior. You'll take your maids and your prototype catgirl and save the day or something. Anyhow, a geisha species would probably have a charisma bonus and maybe some sort of captivating ability gained from taking a species class. Make them fey to further separate them from the basic humanoids. I think it would be best to go all out and make a heavily stylized interpretation of a geisha, although I fear that the product would be a bit too two-dimensional ("+43049830948 spread across 249080948 perform skills!").
The_Shaman 04-08-07, 02:20 PM	Human. Calishite, Shou, Mulan, maybe Vaasan, Phoenix, Scorpion, possibly Dragon (don't quote me on that). Any race can have a geisha-equivalent occupation (presuming they have a similar culture), however, some might be closer to the human equivalent than others. However, basing a race on a human occupation is... weird. Every dwarf is a miner/blacksmith/warrior/drunk? Weird, so far my dwarves have been an explorer and a merchant, and I was thinking about a lorekeeper. Mind you, I generally adhere to racial stereotypes - just not slavishly so.

David Argall 04-08-07, 06:43 PM	Well, doppleganger is potentially an excellent race for a geisha, or any "companion". Now our AD&D doppleganger was described as essentially male, but it is not an absolute requirement even there, and not a limit on 3.5
