What book do they originally appear in? I cannot, for the life of me, remember.

Thanks in advance

The Genasi actually first appeared as idea in the Planescape setting, in the 90s - AD&D 2nd edition. Not sure if it was in the Campaign setting book or the Inner planes book first, though.

There's an update to them on with things like LA somewhere on the wizards site.

If you're referring to (A)D&D in general, I believe it was, like The Ubbergeek said, in 2e Planescape accessory, Planewalker's Handbook.

If you're thinking 3(.5) D&D, they were first detailed in Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (their racial stats and racial write-up), and further detailed in Races of Faerūn (no racial stats, but racial background details and a few racial feats). As Thomar_of_Uointer said, they were also detailed, in monster format, in Monsters of Faerūn.

The 3.5 version of genasi is identical to 3.0 version. They're also somewhat less powerful than the other native outsider races (aasimar and tiefling). IMO, giving them resistance 10 against their related energy would help somewhat in that regard.

regards.

i like Air Genasi a lot though.

that Breathless ability more than makes up for any lack of resistances they get.
