| riftdragon08-07-07, 11:14 PM | Ok I already posted the giant brain race and reworked it so it would be more usable as a pc race. Giant Brains Description The Giant brains look like floating brains that have a small tentical-like body coming from where the brain stem would go. Where the legs would be on a human it has a tentical instead it ends with a scorpion-like stinger. It has 2 eye stocks coming from the frontal lobe of the brain. History The Giant Brains were once human who to further pursue the knowledge of the ages locked them selves within a pocket dimension a millenia ago. The lock has started to fade and they slowly filter back into the world which they left. the reason they look the way they do is that they let their bodies wither threw out the time that they were sealed favoring knowledge over brute force Alignment Most brains tend toward law that favors reasoning however there are a few who enjoy chaos more Abilities Size:Small(thin):they are the same hight as a Medium Race but their body is thin enough to count as a small they have the reach of a medium creature even though they are small. they lose the +4 to hide checks. Type:Outsider(Native) Speed:Floating:30ft. A Giant Brain floats anywhere from 2-8 feet off the ground it can go higher but it costs 5ft of speed every 5ft higher he is from his limit Stats:-6 strength(min of 3),+4 intelligence,-4 constitution,+2 Wisdom, -2 Charisma. Giant brains have almost no muscle however they are incredibly smart. they lost resistances to common illnesses because of the sterile nature of their pocket dimension, and most people find them creepy. Natural weapon:Stinger: 1d4 Piercing 19-20/X2 Counts as a light weapon Floating Disk:3/day a giant brain can use the Floating Disk spell as a caster of his current level Eating: Giant Brains eat free floating thoughts that are constantly in the air if you've ever just forgotten what you were thinking about then it was probably a giant brain Knowledgeable:A giant brain adds all knowledge skills to his class skill list. Book learned:+2 to all knowledge checks No Feet:Can Not wear boots or shoes Favored Class:Wizard Thoughts? |

| riftdragon08-08-07, 12:15 AM | thanks |
| Artifact08-08-07, 12:59 AM |! I like the "losing your train of thought" because a giant brain prolly got hungry. This wouldn't happen to be inspired by a certain iconic brain in a jair (favored by WotC R&D) would it? ;) |
| riftdragon08-08-07, 01:02 AM | Actually, no I had the Idea for this race before they came out with it and i posted it i just needed to reform it into a different state to make it more PC friendly. Any LA Suggestions? |
| Artifact08-08-07, 01:40 AM | Any LA Suggestions? Well, game balance isn't really my thing, but since they can't wear boots or shoes, I'd say they're okay at LA +0 (that is to say, "balanced") (:D). In all seriousness though, this would be an interesting race in a campaign where psionics feature. I can see a race of psionic beings who gather such an incredible sum of mortal knowledge that they eventually abandon their humanoid bodies in favor of their now advanced, powerful brains. This reminds me of a Doctor Who race :). That's a definite compliment BTW-- I grew up watching the show in the '70s and '80s and loved it! |
