This is a race I am working on for my Daiyun Campaign. All comments and critque are welcome. :tiphat:

Gildantine look like half-elves, but are just as varied as humans. They were a race created by a diety named Laudia to combat evil planar creatures (demons, specifically, but others are just as well.) They have every hair and skin shade a human has, but they are genrally average to slim, have pointy ears, and have blue, green, brown, hazel, lavendar, silver, or gold eyes. They tends twards any non-evil alignment, but they live on a variety of planes.

Most live on the Material plane, Celesta, Elysum (sp?), Arborea, and some even willingly live in the Abyss or the Nine Hells, usually for undercover work.

Gildantine Traits:

- +2 Charisma, +2 Intelligence, -2 Strength
(Think Half-orc traits reversed.) Gildantine are charming, cunning, and knowledgeable, but are physically weak.

-Outsider (Native) Type. Immune to Charm Person or Humanoid affecting spells. Gildantine mostly live on other planes, but many also live on the Material planes. Some say they started out on the Material Plane, which explains their Native Subtype. (They can be brought back from the dead.)

- +2 on Sense Motive, Bluff, and Hide checks. Gildantine are adept investigators. They have to be to hunt evil outsiders.

- +4 dodge bonous against fiends.

- +2 on Knowledge (The Planes)

- +1 on attack rolls against outsiders with the evil subtype.

- + 1 on Listen and Spot checks. Gildantine have keen ears and eyes.

- -2 on Intimadate checks. Because they are not physically strong, they don't seem as threatning to others. They are actually friendly people, and try to avoid up front confrontation due to thier lack of strength.

- Disrupt Evil (su): This spell-like ability functions as the Disrupt undead spell in the PHB, but it damages any outsider with the evil subtype, OR a creature with an evil alignment in general. This ability is usable once per day, and deals 1d8 damage or +1d8 if used to add power to another attack.

Automatic Languages: Common and Celestial

Others: Draconic, Abyssal, Infernal, Elven, Sylvan

Gildantine are often in contact with extraordinary races.

Favored Class: Ranger. Rouge, Bard, Cleric, Sorcerer, and Wizard are also good choices. But, Gildantine Bards are rare.

Level Adjustment: +0 or +1 (Help!)

There is an overall gain in ability modifiers, but the other things don't look good enough to make it LA +1 I think. Dwarves still have much more.

Hmmm...Thanks. I thought it would be balaned becaused Half-Orcs have the opposite (+2 Str, -2 INT and CHA), so I thought reversing it wouldn't change the balance. (Acording to the DMG, th reason for the two penalties was to balance the str bonus, so, if they had a str penalty, and didn't get a constitution or dexterity bonus, having a bonus to charisma and inteligence would balance it- I almost considered a wisdom bonus, but I thought they would be to much like aasimar, so I chose intelligence instead).

Anyway, thank you for your input!

+1 LA as it is an Outsider and has unbalanced ability scores
