I want to play a goblin like the ones in WoW...bombs, engineers, gadgets. Kind of like the chaotic neutral version of a gnome. What subtypes are there? Also what class would best fit this theme? I was thinking artificer, but i think artificer is too "magical". If i want to blow something up, i want to chuck a bomb at it...not point a wand. thanks

The WoW goblins are nothing more than gnomes that are green with high ranks of craft (weapon) profession (engineer) and disable device. Rogue would be the proferred class for MY goblins, should i decides to do that. Racial bonus to craft (weapon), profession (engineer), and disable device would work well in place of what ever racial skills gnomes get. Same stat mods, same size mods, different skill and racial mods.

keep them as is ... just throw in some fluff about civilized goblins and you're set.

subtypes? ...

standard
bugbear
hobgoblin
blue (psionic goblin)
bakemono (savage goblin from OA, strong and STUPID)
Xvart
Half-hobgoblin (human or orc) from Kingdoms of ... of ... of K-something

those are just from MM, XPH, OA, KoKCS, (Xvart is conversion from 1e/2e ... I think a new version was done by WotC or was in the Tome of Horrors by Necromancer Games)

those are really like the Iron Kingdom goblins (gobbers)... nothing like playing a small goblin who's job is to climb around inside a steam engine trying to get it working again.
