Good +1LA Templates [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-27-07, 11:43 AM I'm looking for +1 LA templates that provide bonus's to CON, DEX, or INT. WIS, CHA, & STR is not really that useful. Althought the last could change. Decent Special abilities instead of stat adjustment would be good, as well. Tanking abilities would be useful, but so would stealthy abilities.

Fast Healing 1 would be awesome, but I doubt any +1 LA template or Race has it.

If not, +1 LA Races that are small sized and don't have a speed reduction.

Currently looking at the Dark Template from Tome of Magic and Whisper Gnome.

Classes are Warblade/Rogue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

08-27-07, 11:55 AM what about half-vampire, some dr, bonus on str/dex/cha, bonuses for some handy rouge skills, and some other handy abilities one of which a limited fast heal.
playing a halfvamp at the moment and its pretty balanced

08-27-07, 12:15 PM ShadowWalker Template from Unapproachable East is a pretty decent rogue friendly +1 LA template. -2 Con, +2 dex and a bunch of spell like abilities that synergizes with rogue.

Another generically good template is Mineral Warrior from the FR Underdark book. I don't specifically recall the stat boosts (+Str and Con I believe) but the template gives you a decent DR/Adamantite that should be useful for most of your PC's career.

08-27-07, 02:22 PM if you are using "savage species" you schould consider "tainted one" it gives a +2 con, and turning into a snake gives some great benefits for a rogue (bonus to hide/move silently and poison)

else i would go with the dark template as you said... it really is great :D

08-27-07, 05:57 PM Draconic, Draconomicon. +2 to str, con and cha, +1 NA, minor resistances, claws, and other goodies. It's quite good for any warrior, but not so much for rogues.

08-27-07, 07:00 PM well, there is Savage species Feral that is LA +1 with scailing Fast healing (starting at 2 and goes up to 5), darkvision, Fast movment +10, claw attacks, and +6 nat armor. its stat adjustments though are not great for a rogue (+4 str, +2 con, +2 wis, -2 dex, -4 int)

08-28-07, 12:31 AM well, there is Savage species Feral that is LA +1 with scailing Fast healing (starting at 2 and goes up to 5), darkvision, Fast movment +10, claw attacks, and +6 nat armor. its stat adjustments though are not great for a rogue (+4 str, +2 con, +2 wis, -2 dex, -4 int)

Just remember the HD based abilities from Feral are granted through racial HD. Feral Minotaurs or some other ECL race with racial HD works well with feral. 0 racial HD PCs on the other hand its still decent but missing out on Fast Healing hurts.

SOME of the feral abilities are racial HD, and some are any HD.

Read carefully.

Fasthealing is one of those that works with any HD.

Feral talenta halfling would be pretty cool.

+10 to all movement types
Hide in Plain Sight
Res: Cold 10
+8 to Hide and +6 to Move Silently
Darkvision
Superior low-light vision

No state bonus but, who needs it. All you need to do is take Darkstalker feat and hide like the devil.

08-28-07, 08:58 AM I'd just play a duegar as they are statted in the EPH, they have invisibility as a psylike ability once per day,expansion (the psionic equivalent of enlarge), 3 bonus PP,a +4 racial bonus to move silently and hide, darkvision 120 ft, immunity to phantasm, paralysis, poisons etc. and all the typical bonuses of the dwarven race!:cool:

Simply put, at +1 LA Duegar are the best race out there...
