Half Vampire Half Dragon character, also Half Dragon Half Balor [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-17-07, 02:07 PM What does everyone thing of these combinations? my DM doesnt mind playing the races (since I am the DM) as long as the players choose good classes for the races. So lend me your thoughts

03-17-07, 02:43 PM The awsome and powerful... er I mean reformed evil races are starting to get cliche, but it is perfectly legal as long as the DM says it is ok. I would expect some profiling from everybody with a weapon, but, if the DM wants, the entire world could be filled with 200 foot tall, evil half kobold/half gnome/half diety True evil palidens that are at constant war with themselves on an infinent plane of awakened platapi mages. It is all up to the DM, if the players want to play differently, they can rebel and elect a new DM, find a new group, or stop playing.

03-17-07, 06:23 PM A Half-Dragon Balor is perfectly legal.

A Half-Vampire/Half-Dragon character is legal but must be done carefully and has a huge LA (+6?) to deal with. The Half-Dragon can be applied to any living, corporeal creature and changes its type to Dragon; the Half-Vampire template can only be applied to humanoids and monstrous humanoids thus a Dragon can not be Half-Vampire.

03-17-07, 09:18 PM I've seen the Half-Dragon Vampire before he started a Half Dragon Monk, and another player was a Vampire. So the Vampire turned the Half Dragon in the first game giving us Half Dragon vampire monk.

Are you referring to applying the half-dragon template to a vampire, or to a half vampire? The former is not possible by the rules, though you could always use the vampiric dragon template from draconomicon. It is also cheaper at LA+5, as opposed to the vampire template's LA+8.

03-18-07, 02:56 AM For the Half Balor/Half Dragon character what should the scores mod be I know what it gets from the half dragon part but not the Balor I am confused because I cant seem to find a reference for it.
