| NightScreamer2006-11-07, 02:29 AM | Alright so I thought about it... and thought about it... and thought some more, and realized Humans are universally the most adaptable race in Dungeons and Dragons. Given that I wondered if the following would be... well allowable to anyone, or at least reasonable. Born and Bred [Racial] You are a natural adapter and by being raised in a community not of your own kind, have taken a strong holding to it and they even treat you as one of your own. Prerequisites: Human, 1st level only Benefit: When you select this feat choose any one of the following Humanoid subtypes* (Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Goblinoid, Halfling, or Orc). You permanently take on this subtype and are thus treated as that Race for meeting the requirements and prerequisites of Feats and Classes. Furthermore you gain a +1 on all Charisma based skill checks when dealing with that race. Special: This feat must be taken at 1st level and cannot be taken more than once. Special: Subtypes of these races can also be acquired such as Duergar, Drow, or Svirfneblin. When taking this feat you must make this decision as well. Special: Other races may also be allowed at the DMs discretion (such as Gnoll, Goliath, Illumian, Kobold, Lizardfolk, Raptoran, or Spellscale). Specifically you could... be Born and Bred in a Dwarven community. You furthermore are considered a Humanoid (Dwarf, Human). Doing so would allow you access to Dwarven racial feats and PrCs, like Dwarven Defender. a class usually exclusively for Dwarves. Thoughts and comments? |

However, as much as I like it, I believe that, in my experience, DMs are rather lenient on such things anyway, with or without a feat. I had a paladin character (human) that was raised among Dwarves and became a Paladin/Dwarven Defender because the DM allowed it anyway. Overall, however, I think its a good feat. I did something like this in my game for humans, whom were always twisting things around because its what they needed to do to survive in the world. The feat was called Necessity Before Valor, and allowed you to ignore the alignment requirement of one PrC of your choice (DM's discression.) |
