Is there anything kicking around about making a character like this, or similar to? Is it possible to have all the abilities of a Whisper Gnome, but being a Human (ie. Whipser Human)?

Also, I forgot to mention what I have complied, and thought to be suitable:

Features in brackets being optional, in the sense that you may pass your own judgement and I shall not care either way.

Not to make light, but... I wonder how the parents did it? I know there are ways it just seems like a gnome and human would have a few issues to figure out in their relationship.

Cool concept though. I like it.

Just like any couple in real life that consists of a "regular-sized" person and some one with dwarfism. It may take some additional considerations, but it is far from impossible.

Generally, no. Whisper gnomes are already considered "overpowered" by many (meaning, a lot -- if not the majority -- of people think whisper gnomes should have been a LA +1 race because of their racial abilities).

Features in brackets being optional, in the sense that you may pass your own judgement and I shall not care either way.

So, you basically want to play a human with rogue-friendly stat modifiers and darkvision?

Shadow Human

Size: Medium
Speed: 30 ft.
Automatic Languages: Common
Favoured Class: Any
Ability Scores: +2 Dexterity, +2 Constitution, -2 Strength, -2 Charisma
(Low-Light vision)
(Darkvision: 60 ft.)
(+4 racial bonus on Hide and Move Silently checks)
(+2 racial bonus on Spot and Listen checks)
(Spell-Like Abilities: 1/day - silence (must be centered on gnome's body). A whisper gnome with a Charisma score of at least 10 also has the following spell-like abilities: 1/day - ghost sound, mage hand, message. Caster level 1st; save DC 10 + whisper gnome's Cha modifier + spell level)

Ability scores are balanced (+2 Dex with -2 Str and +2 Con with -2 Cha), according to the DMG guidelines.

I'd pick either low-ligh or darkvision, not both. And since it's shadow human (i.e. not an underground race), I'd go with low-light vision (low-light vision is better in shadows or on moonlit nights, since it allows for better range and is in colour). (I can't remember whether whisper gnomes are an underground race. If they are, maybe go with darkvision, but I still think low-light vision works better)

Either pick +2 to Hide and Move Silently, or +2 to Spot and Listen. Or any combination thereof, as long as it's +2 to two skills.

Drop silence. It's a 2nd-level spell, and is definitely too much for a LA 0 race.

As written, the shadow human is a nice LA +1 race.

I completely agree with your thoughts. Most of them are very resonable. To clarify, Whisper Gnomes, as I see them, are underground, due to the fact that they are in the RoS (but I could see otherwise).

Now, I suppose the last step is to try and justify it with the ol' DM?

How on Earth did you get those stats?

I'm quite certain A half-human would be stronger.

Ice the -2 Str, +2 Dex and give them something to make 'em more human...

Like bonus skill points or something.

Well, I got the stats from the PHB, and Races of Stone. About it being more human, I got that aspect from the "Any Class" and the Height.
As for a half-human, what do you mean?

I mean, you could probably remove that -2 Dexterity, +2 Strength. I don't see any reason that something half human (humans are larger and stronger then gnomes) would have the EXACT same stat modifiers as it's non-human parent. I'd also reduce the bonuses on their skill checks.

Right now it's basically a tall and flexible (in terms of class choice) gnome.

Sorry for my lack of DnD knowledge here, but, what book has the half-human?

...Isn't this about a half-human gnome?

I was just saying. Being this creature is half human, it should be stronger then a regular gnome.

ohh, i thought you were reffering to a half-human template, my mistake there.
