OK, does anyone know of a race I can use/introduce to satisfy my craving for catgirls? I know of the catfolk in the Races of the Wild, but they're too anthromorphic for my tastes. I'm a big anime fan, and I'm looking for something similar to the typical anime catgirl.

And yes, I realize that my posting this will most likely result in my getting Smited from all different directions at once.

How are Catfolk different from typical anime catgirls?

Just change the flavor to suit your [doubtless hopelessly twisted] needs.

there's three ways you could use the catfolk from RotW.

1) keep it the same

2) gloss over and give them even more feline faces ears, and tails. it serves people who want to be more like animals

3) talk to your DM about having the cat-like features removed other than ears, possibly adding atail or something, and keep it like that

make a super intricate new race for a human with a tail and cat ears, with several extremely overpowered abilities and then put it on here so we all can make fun of it while i secretly write it down, apply half nymph, and have a super-powerful and supernaturaly beutiful catgirl, without bothering to mention the possibility of playing them to the others in my group.

Highly depends on which anime said cat girl is from. It matches most I've seen.

Maybe he's going for the ones that are nothing but humans with cat ears and a tail. No fur or anything.

Your typical anime catgirl has just ears and tail. The Catfolk are humanoid cats.

Simple answer:

Tiefling. With a Cat tail + Cat ears (and eyes). The Tiefling could have his great-great grandpappy be a Rakshasa. It would work since Rakshasa's are fiends, and tieflings vary from one each other like snowflakes (no two are alike).

I was going to suggest to use a human and simply mention the cat features in the characters description, but I like Manyfists idea better. I'd like to propose a minor change though. Animee catgirls are usualy supersexy but not very bright, so swap the INT and CHA modifiers. This would also fit the "descended of a rakshasa" idea better (Since rakshasas have more CHA than INT).

Ya, thats a good idea as well. Switch the Int and Cha bonus/pent. around.

That is an excellent idea. Good job Fleck and Manyfists! :)

Now, if they were some kind of paladin/rouge gestalt, then you'd get smited AND sneak attacked.

I guess now with Fleck and Manyfists reply, you'll move over to the class forums and ask for a schoolgirl? :P

(Cause if you do, I'll totally look at that thread.)

Sigh.......This will probably get me smited faster than you

I have a catgirl in a campaign were running now as kind of a mascot/mount/animal companion

I worked with my DM for about 2 or three nights on an acceptable build for an alternative to a pali mount that could go in 5ft spaces, even if that meant i could use it as a horse, because we were going to dungeon crawl so much
The solution combined with my friend's frequent rant that anytime you mention physics in anime or DnD god kills a Cat girl provoked us to tweak the shifter template from MM III and the half-celestial template into a CR 2 creature
Lapis of the Azure Sky Celestial Cat Girl

Oddly enough the party loves her, the number of jokes and humor is just wonderful and other players are frequently reminding me to summon her, event though all she does is cast Bless once a day because I'm paranoid she'll die. In fact there was a point where a hobogoblin hit her and the entire party worked to clear me a path so that I could smite it.
I guess I feel this is important because I have a group thats very big on balance and lapis is defiantly one of our weirder homebrew things but its worked out incredibly well.

I would say look into the shifter template its got nearly no adjustment if any I can't remember and you can easily tweak it to fit what you're looking for, even with the celestial template its defiantly not overpowering. Its also a lot less mechanically strange than the Tibit class. Tibits are cat people who take cat form, I forget the book

Shifter gave Lapis cat ears and claws, but she can only attack with the claws once a day and since she lacks class levels shes actually much weaker than a horse despite the multiple templates

I've got a character sheet for her but its a word file with several pictures in it and tables that I scaned with her breakdown of various templates abilities and what not. Its on my other computer, sadly and I doubt I will return to this thread so PM me your email address if you'd like to see it I can email it to you.

Still the idea of tweaking the tiefling class to be a cat would provide nearly the same result. Then again you could always just say its a cat girl and treat it mechanically like a smiliar race

Good luck :)

Wait... "shifter" isn't a template, "shifter" is a race.

I think Nall simply ment that he applied the half-celestial to a shifter. If not then that's a whole lot of broken using shifter as a template. :D

Must remember to try that on a DM not familier with Eberron...
