As the title says, I would like to play the rest of my campaign as a pig (I got a pigs body through the spell Magic Jar and I don't know what happened to my initial body). I figure I can gain the majority of my abilities through some spells but I need those stats for a pig. If someone can post some suggestions that would be much appreciated.

There's always the boar (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/boar.htm) in the MM1 and SRD.

The anthropomorphic pig that dragon is referencing is an ECL 4 creature with +2 LA. Not ideal for quick conversions, I'm afraid.

Um, dont worry about it. Your gonna die dude.

From the SRD:
If the host body is slain, you return to the magic jar, if within range, and the life force of the host departs (it is dead). If the host body is slain beyond the range of the spell, both you and the host die. Any life force with nowhere to go is treated as slain.

If the spell ends while you are in the magic jar, you return to your body (or die if your body is out of range or destroyed). If the spell ends while you are in a host, you return to your body (or die, if it is out of range of your current position), and the soul in the magic jar returns to its body (or dies if it is out of range). Destroying the receptacle ends the spell, and the spell can be dispelled at either the magic jar or at the host’s location.

Id suggest you find your body, and quickly. The spell only lasts for 1hour per lvl, so you probably have a day at best to find it. Hopefully your body is with the jar, or the jar is in your parties possession. IF the body, the Jar, and the soul are all being taken in diffrent directions, you might as well just start rolling up a new char. If your body is destroyed, your kinda screwed. Mabey your dm will let the druid reincarnate it before your time limit expires, then let you transfer back to it withought the loss of level. (As your soul never really departed) Hope the druid rolls a 1, bugbears are awsome.

Nah I've read the other thread. The MJ effect has been made permanent somehow.

We'll need to know your class & level. That will help a lot.

I'd either use a boar and edit the story so you jumped into a boar instead of a "pig" per se; otherwise I'd use the boar's stats but remove the Ferocity ability, and I'd replace Gore with a Bite that's treated as a secondary attack (thus, it'd be an attack at -1 instead of +4, and deals 1d6+3 damage instead of 1d8+3).

I am a lvl 5 rogue, lvl 2 spymaster, lvl 2 guild theif, and another class (which my dm made up, similar to an arcane trickster) of lvl 9. Hope that helps.

Epic Magic o.O It's kind of complicated, I didn't make rules for it but I needed something for my campaign. It was a very important twist as they have found a rogue in one of the jars who had indirectly caused a deific war over 1000 years ago.

ECL 9 makes the anthro pig an option.
I was hoping you'd be a spellcaster of some kind. Then you can start to use magic to get around the rather annoying part where you don't have hands to hold anything.
So if you want to fight you'll have to see to getting a mouthpick weapon (Lord of Madness) or use your natural attack. Not to mention that a lot of your skills will probably be useless. Disguise, open lock, disable device etc.

The stats for a pig can be the same (or similar) to the boar (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/boar.htm) That would probably be your best bet.

The ranger and other PCs who did this to the person who started this thread used a pig of small size, so he has to stick with that (I'm the DM).

Use a boar stats, lower it a size -2 str, +2 dex, remake with levels in warlock/sorcerer (some of that magic could've rubbed off) and laugh as a pig shoots fireballs/blasts of energy. Piggy Power.

What are you talking about? Disguise is the best effective skill he now has!

No one ever suspects the pig is a MJ'd rogue.

That pig rogue will have one heck of a combat style to apply those d6s. Groin rush FTW, hehe. Apart from that, you will probably need to take a good, long look at Savage Species. I think it had items that allow you fine manipulation (necessary for open lock, disable device etc) without hands. A rogue without these skills is not nearly as helpful to the party.

Being a pig isn't as cool as you might think; just ask a BLT. :)

One of my characters accidentally turned himself into a pig at one point and got seperated from the rest of the party.

People started hunting me and were amazed when this pig started doing martial arts and catching arrows and generally doing things that pigs just can't do.

They wanted to eat me even more then.

But the game wasn't D&D so I can't help with the stats that were used but I did find some stats for the peccary.Peccary

Peccaries are desert-dwelling relatives of the domestic pig. Adults grow to an average length of 3 feet and weigh between 40 and 60 pounds.

Combat:
Peccaries are usually peaceful omnivores, but can be quite dangerous when threatened. They usually attack in groups, biting and tearing at their foes with their sharp tusks.

Ferocity (Ex): A peccary is such a tenacious combatant that it continues to fight without penalty even while disabled or dying.** The original post did not finish this ability but I cut and pasted the remainder from the Boar's Special Attacks in the SRD.

EccentricEric,

Why do folks want to play unplayable characters?

What party in their right minds would take a pig adventuring? You can't talk. You can't open a door, use a rope, pick up coins, etc. You can't wield a weapon. You can't perform half the skills in the PHB (craft, diplomacy, climb, profession, open lock, use rope, use magical device, etc.) etc., etc. You are completely useless. Heck, if you don't have some other PC walking around with you explaining things to villagers, you'll be BBQ five minutes after arriving in town.

I know... you have all sorts of special abilities which allow you to talk, manipulate objects, use magical items, etc. no matter how many rules you need to break. At which point, you aren't playing D&D.

Players need a suspension of disbelief needed to play the game. However, everyone has limits on this. At some point something becomes too stupid to the point at which they are constantly aware that nothing they do is really of any meaning -- at which point they tune out. Hats off to any group who can maintain a campaign with a player playing a pig. More likely, they'll tune out or you'll get sick of not being able to participate and all you'll manage to do is waste everyone's time.

I read some of the other thread.... where Eric's character was transformed into the pig in the first place.

Belive me... his wanting to play an 'unplayable character' is the LEAST of his groups problems.

The whole situation these guys are running is pretty nutty.

Yeah, Radijs linked it earlier in the thread. I think this gives the whole background from the DM's point of view.

I have to admit though, it might be fun for one night to do this, but I think it'd get boring (no pun intended :P). If my PC were permanently turned into a pig, I'd probably count that about the same as being killed or turned into a statue and just roll up a new PC. If the DM insisted I had to play it, I'd break out the hammer gun, and when I was all out of hammers, I'd join a new group.

now im done. ok, i know, it sucks to be a level 1 after all of that hard work, trust me i know, but it's not not dang worth it to be a freaken pig. Dude, start over, or ask your dm if you can start playing a new high level character. Up, i can feel it coming---up, it back down. You better leave though, because its coming back up.........

But he isn't asking about the benefits of this exercise. He's asking how to do it, and the reaoning I've read sounds like a great campaign.

Obviously you haven't read the book The Justicar where the main protagonist is a human with a sentient hellcat cape, his girlfriend is a pixie and they keep trying to have a baby, his mentor is a talking badger (who can and does have thumbs), and his friends are a little sphinx and a human warrior with a +1 crossbow.
