I know that the text states "On attaining 2nd level in any class, an illumian gains a second different power sigil,..." which to me implies that whenever they gain two levels in a class they get another power sigil.

It is ment that you would only get two. Any more and that would be broken on an even more broken multiclass system.

12-31-07, 11:36 AM I agree with Spikes. They meant for it to get its second power sigil when the Illumian gains its 2nd overall class level, and no more.

12-31-07, 08:24 PM It says class level which is different than character level. like if a character takes rogue 1 ftr1 wizard 1 sorc 1 for what ever reason I dont think he should gain that second Sigil until he takes a second level in a class. Using that I would say they gain additional sigils if they take a second level in each class

Since one cannot gain a second different power sigil more than once, your attempt at a blatantly munchkin RAW reading fails.

On the other hand, a careful reading of text dealing with sigils strongly suggests that somewhere along the design process, they could gain more than two sigils. The writers undoubtably rewrote the section when it became obvious that allowing characters to gain an openended number of sigils was unbalancing.

The writers undoubtably rewrote the section when it became obvious that allowing characters to gain an openended number of sigils was unbalancing.

A bit distracting as well, what with the powerful luminosity of a half dozen sigils floating about one's head :)
