Illumian - alternative Krau sigil ? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Regarding the base powers (not the words) of the illumian's sigils, I have some difficulty with the Krau sigil. Not in understanding its effect - I understand them too well. But with the effect proper, compared to the other sigils.

All other sigils give bonuses to ability & skill checks - all type of characters can benefit of it. The Krau sigil, however, actually gives something that is only useful to multiclassed caster : single-classed caster and non-casters get no benefit from it. It's the single-classed caster that gives me the headache : while it makes sense for an illumian to take that sigil, it will be useful only if the character sacrifices a few levels to other classes. But what if he doesn't ? He screwed. Screwed for having developped the character in an adequate direction.

So, if you had to replace the base power of the Krau sigil by something else, what would it be ? Any suggestion ?

To a flat +1 to caster level in a class chosen at character creation, if anything. However, the combined sigils with Krau and especially the Krau feats available make the Krau sigil a very, very good choice for even the single-classed spellcaster.
