| Myfaeia08-14-07, 07:17 PM | In Races Of The Wild! In Races Of The Wild there are part that list morphs, I would love to RP one of the (Cat-morph) listed as Cat-person. I run Elven Mages mostly and but would like to try and run this template! Can any of you give me some advise? Also what are their age range? And can I run one as a Mage? |
| CoarseDragon08-14-07, 07:26 PM | We had a Cat-person Scout, turned out to be an amazing character. Their increased movement is purrr-fect for that class. |
| Hellsbells08-14-07, 10:10 PM | I have the book and I say they would be good at scout, ranger, rouge, or dare I say it fighter. I have two questions/comments though. First of all what is a morph (in this context, not its definition) and I don't think it is a template. |

Not like a centaur, where the portions are clearly defined, but an actual blend of traits. 2. No, Catflok is not a template. |
| Lawlicron08-14-07, 10:30 PM | In case you don't have access to the information, here's everything you need to know to write up a catperson. *list of stats* Aleolus that is not OGL. There is a pretty good chance this thread might be locked and deleted. I suggest you edit it. |
| Tectorman08-15-07, 11:41 AM | 2. No, Catflok is not a template. However, there is a feline-ish template in the Book of Erotic Fantasy. Well, where else were you expecting to find it? |

'Cat Morph' is shorthand for 'anthropomorphic cat', meaning a cat given human characteristics ... such as, say bipedal stance, feet, speech and opposable thumbs. And if your DM uses the Level Adjustment buyoff in Unearthed Arcana/the SRD, they get even sweeter. :) |

Catfolk are an awesome race and are excellent for a lot of roles. This is without LA buyoff. With it, they are one of the best races around (I know I'm going to get flak for this). |
| Elemmakil08-15-07, 01:52 PM | And can I run one as a Mage?I assume that by "mage" you mean "wizard" or "sorcerer." Yes. Any race can be any base class, perhaps with very few exceptions. Catfolk aren't optimal spellcasters, because they get very little of value for their +1 LA, but you can do it. -Elemmakil |

Actually, they make excellent scorcerers as their racial Dex bonus increases the poor AC of a low-level scorcerer and they get +1 NA. Their racial Cha bonus gives them more spells and makes them harder to resist, offsetting the cost of a caster level (though not ompletely negating it). |

Races of the Wild is not Open Gaming Content. Only material in the SRD (which is the majority, but not all, of the material in the PHB, DMG, Monster Manual (I), Unearthed Arcana, and Expanded Psionics Handbook) can be posted in detail on these forums without violating the Code of Conduct. |
| Aleolus08-16-07, 12:50 AM | ...It's an official WotC release! How can it be OGL?!? |
| Lawlicron08-16-07, 01:32 AM | ...It's an official WotC release! How can it be OGL?!? Thats the point, its not OGL/OGC (open gaming license/content). |
| zeratulcraft08-16-07, 01:33 AM | This is no longer a wizards forum, however. It's under jurisdiction of gleemax, and we have not seen a gleemax CoC yet. So...post away! |
