-tiefling is good, specially if you use the no LA provision (Player's Guide to Faerun)
-air genasi (Faerun again) is especially good for Dex Ftr's, particularly swashbucklers for the Int bonus to dmg. love a good Dex/Int combo buff
-sun elves are nice Wiz's
