| SeptimusMagistos08-30-06, 04:53 PM | Kitini (The Lost Ones) Kititni are a long-lost race of children who have defied the laws of growing up. Personality: Kitini tend toward chaos as their very means of existance breaks several natural and supernatural laws. Their life on the Kitini Isles tends to make them fearless and increase their wits somewhat. If Kitini go away from the isles, they may change their outlook on life. Physical Description: Kitini are short, about the same height as halflings. They look like a mix between fey and human children. They often dress in animal skins. Just as humans, Kitini look different and use different accessories, though they are akin to one another in a way. Relations: Kitini get along well enough with most other races. They tend to consider elves too stuffy and the elves usually dislike their kind of immortality. Kitini don't get along too well with half-orcs, and think that dwarves are way too greedy(but who doesn't?) Alignment: On average, Kitini tend to lean towards Chaos and Good because of their society, but there are exceptions, especially among those who have left the Kitini isles. Kitini lands: Kitini have a loose culture with tribes ruled in different ways from monarchys to democracies. They populate the Kitini Isles, a secret place which holds the key to transferring into their everyoung life. Their days are spent in endless activities, from feasting to fighting, from playing games to sleeping. The one thing they rarely do is work. Few come to their isles, though some exceptions are made. Often, children are lured in to become Kitini, usually human. Though this place may sound like paradise to some, beware, for Kitini Isles are full of deadly dangers, and not all can survive. Religion: Kitini have no pantheon of their own. The worship tends to be spread out across other pantheons, with everyone having their own set of beliefs. The usual way to go about religion for Kitini is to ignore it most of the time and pray to every god they've ever heard of in time of need. Language: Kitini do not have a language of their own. Instead, they've adopted the Common language, and though it is sprinkled with their own slang, it is still understandable. Names: Kitini tend to follow humans in their naming procedures. Most often, they use a nickname based on something they've done. Adventures: Kitini have daily adventures on Kitini Isles. If one has not been in danger of dying before lunch, it's considered a very slow day. Some Kitini leave the isles to explore the wider world, and those tend to carry on the trend of adventure. Kitini just aren't very suited to honest work. Kitini Racial Traits * +2 Dex, -2 Str. Kitini are agile but not very strong. * Small. * Kitini base land speed is 30 feet. * Never Aging. Kitini never age. They do not die of old age and do not go through age cathegories. * Automatic Languages Common. * Favored Class Fighter, Bard, Rogue. A multiclass Kitini's fighter bard or rogue class does not count when determining whether he takes an experience point penalty for multiclassing. However, if he has more than one of these classes, only the highest doesn't count. * Level Adjustment +0 Kitini racial feats: Birthright feats(Can only be taken at 1st level) Liberty's Child Your tribe was ruled by a democracy and it left you used to freedom. This feat provides the character with a +4 bonus to spells seeking to control them. True Kitini You were born as a match between 2 pureblood Kitini. This feat increases the character's Charisma by 2 but drops his wisdom by an equal amount. In addition, a character with this feat gains +2 to Knowledge(nature) checks. Newly lost You were brought into the isles of Kirini as a child and subjected to the rituals. This feat negates the Kirini racial score adjustments. It also gives a character with it favored class(any). Following the Leader You were born in a tribe led by a strong figure. A character with this feat gains +1 to attack and damage if the leader of the party he's in is alive. If the character is the leader of the party, this feat is treated as Born Leader instead. Born leader You were born to be a leader of your tribe. As long as you're in the lead, you're the best you can be. A character with this feat gains+1 to attack and damage if he's the leader of the party he's in. If he isn't this feat is treated as Following the Leader instead. Other Feats Beastslayer You have battled savaged beasts of the Kitini Isles all your life and have grown good at it. You get +2 to hit and damage vs. animals. Suggestions? |
| Rerecros08-30-06, 04:59 PM | They do not deserve the LA. :D Liberty's Child, I guess you've never heard of tyranny by majority ;) |
| SeptimusMagistos08-30-06, 05:05 PM | They do not deserve the LA. I know. That's part of the "Suggestions?" request. What should I do to give them LA other than more feats? |
| SeptimusMagistos08-31-06, 08:11 PM | All right, I've updated it a little. Any suggestions yet? |
| SeptimusMagistos09-01-06, 07:32 PM | Could you at least tell me why no one comments on it? |
| Piggyfreak609-01-06, 09:02 PM | Fluff. I would like to see some Fluff. I want to know what this race looks like, acts like, feels like, smells like. LA shouldn't be +1 |
| SeptimusMagistos09-02-06, 12:11 PM | Fluff. I would like to see some Fluff. I want to know what this race looks like, acts like, feels like, smells like. LA shouldn't be +1 Thank you. I'll get right on it. I suppose LA is too high. I'll remove that. For now. I'd still like to see them with LA, though. |
| Kaiosama21409-02-06, 03:06 PM | Question: do they gain a fly speed equal to their regular movement if they think happy thoughts? How about the ability to crow? In all seirousness, these are straight out the lost boys. Awesome interpertation. |
| SeptimusMagistos09-03-06, 01:15 PM | Question: do they gain a fly speed equal to their regular movement if they think happy thoughts? How about the ability to crow? In all seirousness, these are straight out the lost boys. Awesome interpertation. Nah, I'm reserving that for a special project. And yes, they are an attempt to put the Lost Boys into DnD, though without Peter Pan. |
| SeptimusMagistos09-04-06, 12:38 PM | All right, I've got all the fluff done. I'm also starting to reconsider the flying thing. What would be an LA on that(A couple of flights a day, not a permanent effect. I'm saving that) |
| SeptimusMagistos09-06-06, 05:08 PM | :bump: |
| Grod_The_Giant11-04-06, 03:19 PM | having linked to this from your sig many months after it died... thry seem sort of fey-like. Maybe something in their stats should reflect this. Also, they should probably get a wisdom penalty (they are little kids, after all) |
| Ganen04-07-07, 04:45 PM | I do love this idea but then again, you may just wanna say Peter Pan. |
| Kirael04-09-07, 09:31 AM | True Kitini You were born as a match between 2 pureblood Kitini. This feat increases the character's Charisma by 2 but drops his wisdom by an equal amount. In addition, a character with this feat gains +2 to Knowledge(nature) checks. Wait, wait, wait... Aren't Kitini supposed to be children ? ...so how do they reproduce ? |
| Nyt03-14-08, 03:36 PM | I must admit, the lost boys just keep getting cooler. can you please make peter? what class would he be?? acleric worshiping a certain beleif? no... how bout druid..no.. AHA!! SOR...nope nope im gettin nothin. hed have to have some levels in duelist, to be able to defeat captain hook, who had a natural attack. have you seen the new peter pan??? they freakin make there own bows\arrows!!! |
| key03-14-08, 04:36 PM | Wait, wait, wait... Aren't Kitini supposed to be children ? ...so how do they reproduce ? Along these same lines, you say that they never age and are about the same height as halflings. Are they born that tall since they never age? Or do they "age" from the size of a baby to a child and then stop aging? If so, at what age do they stop aging? 6? 12? Finally, can a kitini whose been around for 2000 years have relations with a newborn kitini since they're both children? Or does he/she need to wait until the kitini has stopped growing (if indeed they grow)? Or is that still taboo, i.e. kitini society frowns upon a kitini whose been around for 2000 years having relations with a kitini who has just stopped growing since the former has a lot more experience etc? |
| Frozen_Flame03-15-08, 07:14 AM | To tell the truth, I've had a similar idea a few months ago, but less Peter Pan. In fact, I'm going to work on it again. |
