Kitsune Conversion help? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-22-07, 08:55 PM I found a homemade race on the internet, and I wanted to use it in a game. However, the DM has asked that I get him a Savage Progression (apparently something from Savage Species) for it before I can use it. Seeing as I don't have Savage Species, and the race seems to have been made for 3.0 (we're playing 3.5), can anyone help me convert it?

08-23-07, 12:43 AM If you can find Oriental Adventures for 3E, it's easier to just use the Hengeyokai race from that, and choose fox. And remember to change it's type from Shapechanger to Humanoid (Shapechanger), to update it to 3.5.

Concurred. For the multiple tails, maybe just have them spontaneously sprout at regular intervals up the 20 level ladder.

An addendum to this - in 3.0 Hengeyokai are LA +1 because they had the Shapechanger subtype. With the 3.5 change to Humanoid(Shapechanger), they're LA +0.

Don't feel bad about not having Oriental Adventures, it's not worth the money unless you're playing a completely Asian-themed campaign, and even then, it's really quite mediocre.
