Kobold "giantbane" [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-02-07, 09:31 PM Curious - with the kobold's diminutive size ability, would they be able to use the giantbane feat on those of medium size? Or would the diminutive size not apply for it as they are not technically tiny?

05-02-07, 11:29 PM Kobolds are Small, not Diminutive. Kobolds don't have a diminutive size ability. Therefore, a kobold with the Giantbane feat can only use it against creatures that are Large or larger.

Whenever a kobold is subject to a size modifier or special size modifier for an opposed check (such as Hide), the kobold is treated as one size smaller if doing so is advantageous to the character. A kobold is also considered to be one size smaller when "squeezing" through a restrictive space. A kobold can use weapons designed for a creature one size smaller without penalty. However, the space and reach of a kobold remain those of a creature of their actual size. I don't think so. You aren't squeezing through a restrictive space nor do you have any size modifiers to die rolls being used. IIRC Giantbane correctly.

They are also proficient with picks now, and have claw attacks.

No, the Slight Build ability does not apply to the tactical options of the Giantbane feat, as Drachasor has already shown. The opposed checks aren't of the correct type - there isn't a bonus to Tumble or Climb checks for being small, even though the target responds with a grapple check in the latter case.
