I think i have seen this around a few times and wondered what would happen if i did it. I mean, you can technically take levels of dragon if you have the dragonwrought feat, can't you? What age catagory and such would a 1hd dragon have? Thanks for any help.

It would have a dragon HD. That's it. Not all dragons have age categories, and age categories aren't based off HD. It wouldn't have an age category.

Actually, there are ways in which Races of Dragon -whether intentionally or not- allows a Kobold to qualify for some of the dragon-only PrCs in the Draconomicon. Unfortunately, offhand I don't remember exactly what the requirements are and how to go about getting them. You'd have to read the Draconomicon.

Some people say that they would still be limited to 1 HD and it would change to dragon. Other say that since it changes his/her type completely to dragon that it wouldn't be limited any more since it is now a dragon and there for would matter how many HD you took. You can pick. If you go with the 2nd I'd say 3 levels per age cat would do.

Ace, I believe you are correct. However, I think somewhere in Races of Dragon it either states or implies that a Dragonwrought Kobold is a "true dragon" -which is the important part. There are many creatures with the dragon type which are not true dragons; therefore they do not have age categories. The Draconomicon states something along the lines of "all true dragons have age categories."

Again, I probably botched the wording or screwed it up because it's been quite a while since I've read those two books extensively. If you're asking as a player, I'd speak with your DM and see what he/she says.

I'll look for that but would point out that they already have age cats with out the feat.

Thanks guys. That's exactly what I was looking for. ^^ just one more thing though, would I begin as a wyrmling even though I'd only have 1 dragon hd? Thanks again for all of your all's help!

It does everything but come right out and say they are. I'd go two months.
