| Lord_of_Vain11-26-06, 02:27 PM | This is a thread for all who love kobolds. Any kind of kobold chat allowed. |
| lord_blackfang11-26-06, 02:30 PM | I love kobolds, but not in public. |
| Sphyre11-26-06, 02:32 PM | You'll only get PCs who play kobolds and DMs here, seeing as any DM who runs kobolds correctly will make the PCs loathe kobolds at any level. |
| Lord_of_Vain11-26-06, 02:34 PM | Yes, my cousin ridicules me frequently about how i think kobolds are sweet. Fodder is the word he uses to describe them. |
| lordalm11-26-06, 02:40 PM | I love Kobolds in Eberron. Load a dungeon up with them send the party in. Then use words! Noting fries a PCs mind like nice kobolds. So many points they can't just whack away at. Of course the party that started has all experienced character death so know one knows about the poor little kobolds and thier problem with the Dakanni Goblins and the Dirge Singer. Well actually they're all dead by this time so I guess they don't technically have a problem any more.....:D |
| Nitan11-26-06, 02:59 PM | I love Kobolds. They make funny squeaky noises when I step on them. |
| lord_blackfang11-26-06, 03:05 PM | I love Kobolds. They make funny squeaky noises when I step on them. Stop oppressing us! |
| THETUNNELRAT11-26-06, 03:16 PM | Kobolds of the Realms Rise and take whats yours!:cheer: I will talk my DM into letting me play my CN Kobold Kineticists :D |
| Lord_of_Vain11-26-06, 04:57 PM | I made an epic kobold named DeBrazen and he is taking over the realm. So far he's taken half the world with his legions of kobolds. Unrealistic, but cool. |
| THETUNNELRAT11-26-06, 05:00 PM | I would think Kobolds would have to go through a type of evolution magical or natural like the Orcs in Lord of the Rings. |
| Lord_of_Vain11-26-06, 05:40 PM | I have thought of making a kobold subrace. They would be rusty orange and slightly larger than the normal ones. |
| Grod_The_Giant11-26-06, 05:42 PM | Stop oppressing us! Come and see the violence inherit in the system! help, help, we're being repressed! :D |
| lord_blackfang11-26-06, 05:53 PM | Kobold rights now! |
| Manyfist11-26-06, 06:31 PM | Hmm... Half Dragon Dragonwought Kobold |
| Kadasbrass11-26-06, 08:28 PM | While I believe strongly in Kobolds being lawful out of nature... There is always a place for nuts :D The link is in the sig |
| Kothardarastrix11-26-06, 08:30 PM | Hmm... Draconic Dragonwought Dragonborn Paragorn Kobold Unless it says you can't. This would be one monster of a Kobold. You lose a lot of stuff when you become Dragonborn, Bonus Feats, Skill Bonuses, Attack Bonuses, Save Bonuses, Spell-like Abilities. |
| runestar11-26-06, 08:31 PM | Venerable dragonwrought kobold...now, where's my ELH?:D |
| Kobold_Avenger11-26-06, 08:33 PM | Kobolds Rule!! |
| Kothardarastrix11-26-06, 08:52 PM | Stop oppressing us! Dude, I'm not oppressing you, it's just, when I'm Colossol+ Size Advanced Half-Balor Red Great Wyrm Paragon, I sometimes can't make you out. |
| Kyle_the_wizard11-26-06, 09:02 PM | Our party has a kobald, And he's one of our best melee characters. In the campaign he's leeding kobalds everywhere to break outa slavery and slowly they're taking over the world.(The Paladin is fit to be tied at seeing so many evil creatures everywhere and not being aloowed to kill them :D ) |
| Manyfist11-26-06, 09:21 PM | You lose a lot of stuff when you become Dragonborn, Bonus Feats, Skill Bonuses, Attack Bonuses, Save Bonuses, Spell-like Abilities. Kobold + Dragonborn + Draconic + Dragonwrought (Venerable)+Paragon in that order. You lose your Trapmaking, Bonus in Mining and Search, Light Senstivity, +1 Natural Armor. Gain: Dragonborn racials, Draconic Template Racials, Also since you're Venerable Dragonwrought you gain +3 to all Mental Stats (No Pent), and +2 Cha from the Paragon. You gain more than you lose. All for LA:+1 and 3 (1) class levels you gain +3 Int, +3 Wis, +7 (+5 if no Paragon). Since as a Dragonborn you're still qualify as your original race, and it doesn't count as the Dragon type you're good to go. If you play in Eberron you can be any dragon type (Taimat and Bahamaut don't exist there) and either belong to Eberron or Kyber. Also since in Eberron more than any setting, Alignments aren't always set, you can have a LG Red Dragon and a CE Gold Dragon. Edit: Dragonborn doesn't say you don't get Physical Pent. for ageing, so I'd rule that they only get the mental bonuses because they have Dragonblood and only get stronger as they grow old. |
| Lord_of_Vain11-26-06, 09:22 PM | Thats sweet. Kobold tion man, that's where it's at. |
| Draxo11-27-06, 02:49 AM | I adore Kobolds, they're my favorite race.. and i play a kobold whenever possible. |
| Doctor1211-27-06, 10:56 AM | In my last campaign the PCs became deities and my wife's character became the Goddess of good Kobolds. Her PC became the sworn enemy of Kurtlmak. All over the planet we were playing on churches to Cypress Birchthorne, goddess of good Kobolds popped up. The other players thought this was hilarious. |
| Lord_of_Vain11-27-06, 05:18 PM | I have almost never gotten to encounter kobolds in compaigns I play. It's really dissapointing so I fill my world with kobolds, in a somewhat more elevated position than usual. |
| vardock11-27-06, 05:29 PM | 1: kobolds do not have a "vernable age catagory". if you have races of the dragon you will see that their life cycle follows that of dragons they reach great worm at about 100. 2: I once used a kobold dragonfire adept as a Friendly NPC. when a kobold breathes fire on you, people tend to be suprised. |
| Khatoblepas11-27-06, 05:40 PM | Races of the Dragon pg 39. It has Draconic age catagories AND normal age catagories. Kobolds are venerable at 120 years. Kobolds are awesome. All my characters are kobolds, simply because of three things: - Dragonwrought - They make supreme sorcerers. - Slight Build (Ex) ;) |
| Lord_of_Vain11-27-06, 05:46 PM | For a CR of 1/4, kobolds are the freakin' sweetest. I mean, Meepo beat the TARRASQUE in the creature competition. |
| bruiserdeck11-27-06, 06:34 PM | speaking of kobold CR. is it OK to deminish the penalties a bit when making a kobold character? I mean.. instead of -4 str just make it -2 or something oike that... or maybe give them a free feat like humans get to make up for all the other penalties but still not put them over +0 level ajustment. |
| Manyfist11-27-06, 08:25 PM | -Deleted- |
| Nitan11-27-06, 11:01 PM | Well... Kobolds are the bleach of the D&D Adventurer gene pool. |
| Manyfist11-27-06, 11:38 PM | Well... Kobolds are the bleach of the D&D Adventurer gene pool. You mean Humans? Because Humans or Elves are the most played races. |
| scottt11-28-06, 12:17 AM | I'm writing a campaign at the moment where all the PCs will have to be kobolds. They will be 1st level kobolds that get driven deep into the underdark when their tribal mines are overrun by an expanding dwarven clan. The characters will be told to create 3 characters each for the first session (a 32, 30 and 28 point character) but not to get too excited about giving any of them names... The lucky few will have to survive the underdark somehow, build some sort of power base, and either return to claim their tribal mines or carve out a nice piece of underdark real estate for some new ones. Death will be final until they find a means to raise their dead. If all of their 3 characters survive the first session then the spare 2 become NPCs until needed. |

Give all of them a silenced semiauto pistole as well. they should all have extra ammo. Make sure they have flashbang grenades and and frag grenades. |
| Edge_of_Oblivion11-28-06, 02:15 AM | Kobolds are awesome, I must agree. We've had several kobolds in our parties before, from my LN Kobold Binder (imagine - little green-skinned Kobold with red-lensed glasses, drawing strange symbols in the ground and talking to otherworldly beings, then coming back with a star on his forehead and tossing fireballs between his hands, mauhaha!) to the LG Silver Dragon-blooded Kobold Ray-Blaster Sorc rolled up for an Epic campaign (he could one-shot a Balor with the right spell). However, the most memorable of all was when our DM ran a Frostburn campaign and said "You can play anything - any alignment, any race as long as its less than LA +2, any class that's in one of the books." So we had the Uldra Wizard, the Tiefling Cleric of Auril [this was my character, sadly :P], and the White Dragon Heritage Kobold Sorc - Cheel Vorastrix. Comments from other players - especially when I made the party into NPCs and used them against people in a campaign - hailed him as either the greatest Kobold ever or the most evil thing they'd ever seen. We went on to conquer a mountain range, build a tribe, create Blue Ice Inevitables, and are currently attempting to raise worldwide Fimbulwinter. |
| journeyman77711-28-06, 02:24 AM | Kobold + Dragonborn + Draconic + Dragonwrought (Venerable)+Paragon in that order. A few problems here. 1. Dragonwrought can only be taken at first level. So you can't do it "in that order". 2. Dragonwrought changes your type to dragon, making you ineligible for the draconic template. Kobolds rock as is, no templates needed. |
| Qube11-28-06, 04:18 AM | Yes, my cousin ridicules me frequently about how i think kobolds are sweet. Fodder is the word he uses to describe them. so what? Everyone likes Fod... euh kobolds. They can be mean sadistic bastards or funny sidekicks (Meepo, Dekan). + they are the underdog |

| Kothardarastrix11-28-06, 05:54 PM | Just Make Sure all the Kobolds get M-16s M-16 are crap weapons when fighting in cramped conditions, however the Colt Commando is better, though I'd stick with a reliable AK-74M, the operator's manual for the M16-derivatives suggest cleaning after only 100 shots, and has always be jamtastic. 1 gets a M-60 A Kobold would need a mount to use this weapon effectively, otherwise it'd knock him off his feet anouther 1 a rocket launcher Which Kind? 1 gets a Sniper rifle A Worthless weapon underground since you're fighting in cramped conditions. Give all of them a silenced semiauto pistole as well Which model? flashbang grenades Make it flares, flashbangs have short disorienting time for hummans, but a flare could keep an area lit as bright as the sun for a good while longer. and and frag grenades. Bad idea, in a cave you're cramped and can't move anywhere, and the only time this weapon would be useful in the underdark is in a city, otherwise you'll still be in the killzone of the weapon because you can't throw it adequately. |
| journeyman77711-28-06, 06:51 PM | A.) It goes Kobold + Dragonborn + Draconic + Dragonwrought. Yes it can only be taken at the 1st level. Thats why you become dragonborn 1st, and then take the Feat. You still have a LA:+1. Dragonborn can also be taken at 1st level, so long your GM approves, You choose your race BEFORE your Class, and BEFORE your feats. You choose kobold, then pick your feats. Becoming a dragonborn is done after initial character creation, not during. Kobolds suck with out being an Dragonwrought. This is how it works: At level zero (Childhood) you become a Dragonborn you apply the Template of Draconic after you become a Dragonborn, and then pick your feat to become Dragonwrought. Since you become an adult, you can take the Dragonwrought as a feat. Since in standard creation you apply templates, class, Stats, then feats, you can do it in that order. Kobold to Dragonborn to Draconic to Dragonwrought.I am really curious where you got this strange concept of "level zero". It can't seem to find it in PHB, DMG, or MM. If you are thinking of it as a single hit die that will be replaced when they take a class level (the only thing even remotely close to what you seem to be requiring) than remember that even then the character's feats have already been chosen. Quite simply, a character cannot start as a dragonborn. By definition the character must be fully created before it can take any in-game action, including becoming dragonborn. Also, dragonwrought changes your type to dragon, while the draconic template cannot be applied to a dragon. The two are mutally exclusive. You are insisting you can be a full-blooded quarter-breed. I'm truly sorry you can't seem to enjoy a normal kobold, but you don't need to break the rules to make one playable. |
| scottt11-28-06, 08:57 PM | Thats evil. Level 1 Kobolds in the Underdark... just call them Breakfeast, Lunch, and Dinner. Underdark is no place to have level ones...Oh I don't know... ;) The way I see it the are small and fight better in small cramped tunnels than most races. So long as they are stealthy and careful with the ambushing they should be fine. If on the other hand they walk up to the first drow city they see then... I agree with you. |
| jollythehappyminotaur11-28-06, 09:40 PM | KOBOLDS KOBOLDS KOBOLDS! i love kobolds they are my favorite race! i once played a kobold wizard (krypta) he was one of the best characters i ever played. all of his spells were based around dragons. most of them either had dragon in the name or summoned dragons or turned me into one or gave me a breath weapon or wings or natrual attacks. he was very stealthy and very very trickey. he would play tricks on people all the time. he used his spell more creatively than any caster ive ever seen. other than the dragon spells none of his spells were combat based they were used for puzzle solveing or other creative uses--- endless uses. im about to play another kobold but i havent decided on a class. feel free to help me or just talk about what makes a good class for kobolds. KOBOLDS RULE ALL! |

| scottt11-29-06, 01:17 AM | Dragonborn: Prerequisites- Non Evil, Int 3+ (As you notice it doesn't say it couldn't be done by a child) It doesn't stop you from adding it at creation, just subtract 100g from your funds. [/sblock] -3 Str, -1 Dex, -3 Con, -1 Int, -1 Wis, -1 Cha. Children have 1d4 hp, no feats, skills, Classes. They have +0 bab and base mod to saves. Children have a normal speed of 20ft.[/sblock] This is from D20 Modern. Since D&D D20 doesn't say wither or not a child is playable this is offical. Kobold Child becomes a Dragonborn (Adult) And since he's not a Dragon he can apply the Template of Draconic, and take the feat Dragonwrought. Theres no rules for a child, ANYwhere in the DMG/PHB/MM, so its up to you to accept the D20 modern saying.Interesting idea. However the dragonblood type counts as being a dragon and so limits you to not being able to take templates and feats with the 'Non dragon' prerequisite. Also, the process of becoming a dragon born changes your age rather suddenly (24hrs) to adult. If a character tried this on me, I'd rule that some of the child stat penalties remained due to the fact that they never properly aged to adulthood (probably keep the dex, int, wis and cha penalties). I might also increase the dex penalty for the character not being able to cope with the sudden change to adulthood. # Humanoid (dragonblood): Dragonborn are humanoids with the dragonblood subtype and any other subtypes they had before undergoing the Rite of Rebirth. For all effects related to race, a dragonborn is considered a dragon and a member of her original race. # Age: After a dragonborn underoes the Rite of Rebirth, she emerges as an adult creature regardless of her previous age. |

I guess I'd have to go, Half Dragon Dragonwrought Kobold. Since you apply Half-Dragon Template to even a Dragon. For LA:+3 I can get a Venerable Half Dragon Dragonwrought Kobold with Stats of +4 Str, +5 Int, +3 Wis, +5 Cha. Which really makes no since for LA:+3, Since Half-Celest. gives +4 Str, +2 Dex, +4 Con, +2 Int, +4 Wis, +4 Cha, SLA Reistances and Dmg reduction. I guess Rule 0 then comes out to play. :weep: |

| Dethro11-29-06, 04:03 AM | We're playing a kobold campaign right now. Kurtulmak has blessed a fair number of us, and we are slowly turning into half-dragons (and most likely eventually into dragons). We adventure to further our territories. We rock. |

| Kayoz_Majick11-29-06, 10:20 PM | I am about to run an adventure (gestalt heh heh heh) in which my players are all about the munchkin... They are going to basically have to retake a small town/large villiage that was overrun by Kobolds... the BBEG is going to also be gestalt.... Dragonsworn8/Sorcerer8 His 2 Lieutenants are going to be swordsage4/soulknife4 from the Book of 9 Swords, and then the rest are going to be gestalt Fighter1/swordsage1 there are about 100 combatants in the town :D :evillaugh :plotting:  Also I don't think that any of them have fought Kobolds more than a handfull of times, as most people (un-enlightened to be sure) overlook the potential of a well played Kobold... If not for the natural selection (DM's bent to use them as fodder anyways) they would have taken over the world long ago! |
| stargate52511-29-06, 10:27 PM | does no one here play kobolds without them being templated to heck and back? Hell, I scared the living daylights out of my team with five kobolds, some tactics, and the elite array. Beware the lone kobold standing next to a lever, for they are deadly. |
| Kothardarastrix11-29-06, 10:35 PM | There are large open spaces in parts of the underdark. Also all the weapons are assumed to be sized for kobolds. A Desert Eagle has enough recoil to make a grown man hit himself in the face... not to mention it doesn't have a sufficiently large enough magazine for more than a couple bullets... let's stick with the M1911 commonly refered to as the 'Baby Eagle'. Now what model of Sniper Rifle do you propose? I failed to bring this up in my last post, but what conceivable purpose could any Rocket Launcher serve, nevertheless an Anti-Air Missile... |
| ank11-29-06, 10:49 PM | I like the kobald+dragonborn+draconic+dragonwrought idea, but it has an inherant flaw. By becoming dragonborn you become and entirely different race and lose your racial traits and abilities. I belive you keep your subraces, but kobald is NOT a subrace therefore, you couldnt take the dragonwrought part. Besides, if you're draconic why take dragonwrought in the first place? Buy yourself some dragon wings instead. I would play a kobald char. myself but since my friends discovered that I rock with them, they banned me from playing one (one of my DMs actually banned me from using my books period). As a DM, my players have recognised, memorized, and imprinted upon the image of a ditherbomb: "Oh gods, run!" |
| YamiSouru11-29-06, 11:32 PM | Kobolds dont need to be templated at all for anyone to munchkin them. Lets take our Kobold here. and give him the stats of lets say str 9 dex 17 con 8 int:14 wis 8 cha: 12 and thats with racial penalties and boosts. Stats taken out of the PHBII entry for swashbucklers if you all wish to know. Now then for the first level were going to give the kobold the swashbuckler class to take advantage of his high dex. So at first lvl he can hit around 19 ac if you equip him with a chain shirt and give him the dodge feat((10 base ,+3dex, +4armor, +1 natural, +1 dodge against select target)). Thats without fighting defensely and it also gives the kobold a attack bonus of +5 ((+1 BAB, +3 dex from wep finesse, +1 to hit granted from the race stats)). The only real downside to this is the fact youll have lower HP because of your low con and youll only be dealing 1d4-1 ((assumeing your useing a kobold sized rapier)) damage but this is more or less offset by your high ac and the fact that as a kobold you still have a base movement speed of 30 feet, as good as any medium sized humanoid. So if you start to get in danger you can most likely make the escape. This is all at 1st level without even useing a single template. Also as a side note once you hit 3rd level your int bonus more or less takes away your str penalty to dmg with insightfull strike. You all can make its skills yourself :D Anyway away from the monster of a swashbuckler i have just outlined. I like the kobold race alot and someday...someday they will rise to show the world they are not as weak as people claim them to be! |

Instead of taking Draconic, or Dragonborn I sub. with Half Dragon (LA:+2 ::Houserule::) (I also gave Medium and smaller Half Dragons wings yet they follow the raptorian ruleing.) If I can get a offical ruleing if Dragonblood stops you from taking Draconic and if you can apply Dragonborn at character creation (Since it happen during childhood). Dragonwrought also allows you to get Draconic Wings at lvl 3 which is cool. Half Red Dragon Dragonwrought Kobold :w00t::plotting: |

| Kothardarastrix11-30-06, 10:56 AM | Hmm, perhaps Rocket Launchers aren't much a good idea.. I don't know enough about sniper rifles to know what model to uses.. Well... considering that you can improvise a pretty powerful Sniping Rifle from a 30-06., a civilian hunting rifle, I don't think considering an SR is even plausible. Assault Rifles have moderate recoil, a civilian rifle makes these look like pop-guns. |

And you get +1 caster level! my sorcerer/dracolexi ROX! his name is Miirik :D he'll summon a wyvern then blast you! |
| Silverthumb12811-30-06, 02:46 PM | To Koboldly go where no Human has ever gone before! I think my favorite character I've ever played, RP wise was my Draconic Kobold Bard. He often referred to himself as "The Dragon" in third person, and even sometimes narrated his actions. Kinda annoyed a couple of other players, but I had fun. :D He also had a song he wrote about himself. I'm not going to go into details, but if you're familiar with an internet cartoonist named Marc M(and preferrably 18 years of age, minimum), you can check out his cartoon titled "Year of the Dragon" for that song. |
| canman1311-30-06, 05:44 PM | this is from one old post i made When I was reading the Races of the dragon I came across something that said only the strongest kobolds used bows so i thought why not nake a kobold bred for archery The archerbold (subrace) aRCHER BOLDS HAVE BEEN BRED FOR ARCHERY THEY are strong and wise. They can see much better than normal kobolds too. The archerbold has the same racial traits as kolbolds except were noted - +2 str, +2 wis, -2 cha, -2 con - dark vision - Feats at creation: piont blank shot and rapid fire - -2 on all checks verses spells -+1 on all spot checks - -1 on all reflex saves - small creatur bonuses and penalities - favored class ranger - la +1 ?? finally a thread about kobolds the little dragon puppies that are so misunder stood they are good at heart except for there long lasting anosities also all of you that like kobolds must realize that garl is cruel and unusual sometimes |
| Edge_of_Oblivion11-30-06, 08:12 PM | I guess you're right. About the Dragonblood. I guess I'd have to go, Half Dragon Dragonwrought Kobold. Since you apply Half-Dragon Template to even a Dragon. This is ridiculous and funny because it's true. |
| Manyfist11-30-06, 08:25 PM | This is ridiculous and funny because it's true. We all know the Half White/Half Red/Half Blue Dragon wyrmling is so American. :D Go go American Dragon! |
| journeyman77711-30-06, 08:37 PM | It doesn't say so. It says it a ritual and which why not a child couldn't do it. Dragonborn: Prerequisites- Non Evil, Int 3+ (As you notice it doesn't say it couldn't be done by a child)It also does't say you can. It involves devoting yourself to fighting a war though, so actually having a class level or otherwise being more combat capable than a housecat seems , I don't know, necessary. If you want to take that veiw on it, a housecat with a circlet of intellect could do it (and be more effective than that child). It doesn't stop you from adding it at creation, just subtract 100g from your funds. Since D&D D20 doesn't say wither or not a child is playable this is offical.First off, this isn't D20 Modern. Second, unless it has an "as a character" entry or has class levels, it isn't playable. Third (and just for completeness), Starting gold is listed by class, so if you don't have one yet, where are you getting 100g from? Kobold Child becomes a Dragonborn (Adult) And since he's not a Dragon he can apply the Template of Draconic, and take the feat Dragonwrought. Theres no rules for a child, ANYwhere in the DMG/PHB/MM, so its up to you to accept the D20 modern saying.I find it interesting that you have him taking a feat that represents an inherited trait only possible for his initial race after changing his race into something else entirely. Finally, if the book doesn't have the D&D logo on the front, (or specifically note that it is intended for use with D&D) it has no bearing on this board. That includes D20 Modern. |

| Zathrus12-01-06, 01:00 AM | The favorite tactic our group came up with was squads of third level kobold sorcerers, all of them with magic missile. the leader casts silent image, in the form of a giant, red arrow pointing down over the head of the intended victem. then the ten or so kobold sorcerers let lose magic missiles. 20d4+20/rd force damage from ten CR1 creatures was never so satisfying.:D |
| Edge_of_Oblivion12-01-06, 03:09 AM | If that child proves him/her self willing, especially a Kobold I think Bahamat would look over it. Hmm, there's a minor problem with it. Dragonborn don't come to Bahamut asking for the change, HE comes to THEM. And Bahamut's pretty picky about not getting people involved in the Dragon-Fall War that aren't already... and I'm pretty sure that always includes children. Family? You know, Kobolds who work as underlings for a Red Dragon (Eberron) and so 100g is barely noticeble. I don't know much about Eberron - never played in it and never plan to - but 100g is quite noticeable, for many reasons. One, I doubt the dragon actually pays the kobolds, they serve it because it's a FREAKIN' DRAGON, not for the pay. Secondly, kobolds don't have "family" in the traditional sense - kobold wyrmlings are raised by a caretaker, not their biological parents, until they are old enough to participate in the mines, after which they go work in the mines. Kobolds have few to no personal belongings, so one of them running around with 100gp is GOING to be noticed. (Care to argue with this one, I suggest you read through Races of the Dragon again first.) ESPECIALLY if it came from the Dragon's hoard - they MEMORIZE how much money they have there and they notice when something's taken. Get over it. D20 Modern was mentioned in DMG. Page number, please. He's now a Half Red Dragon Dragonwrought Kobold (LA:+2) (LA buy off) (Houserule on both LA and Buyoff). I believe it's safe to say "leave houserules at home when you come to the forums" here. There is a forum for D20 outside of D&D and there is a forum for Houserules, take these both there, leave this for non-houseruled D&D. |
| journeyman77712-01-06, 03:19 AM | Being American myself, I thought it quite amusing but then again, I have a very self-depricating sense of humor... Seconded, after all, if we don't poke fun at ourselves, who else will dare? If that child proves him/her self willing, especially a Kobold I think Bahamat would look over it.Becoming a dragonborn makes that kobold a target for Tiamat and her minions. I think Bahamut would wait til the kid is a bit more grown up and capable of dealing with the dangers involved (has a class). Just because a kid really wants to be a soldier doesn't mean the military is going to accept a five-year old. Family? You know, Kobolds who work as underlings for a Red Dragon (Eberron) and so 100g is barely noticeble.Aside from the excellent reasons Edge listed, starting gold is determined by class. I find it odd you would insist that children be accepted as playable without any levels (BTW: sample adventures generally just give them 1 lv in commoner) and then ignore the fact that starting gold is determined by class. You nitpicked the order things are done in, now abide by your own standard. Standard Kobolds will rule the world, it is only a matter of time. |

| Edge_of_Oblivion12-01-06, 04:46 PM | Gnomes first. Everything else can wait. |
| KoreKore12-01-06, 05:21 PM | there have been two campaigns in which kobalds did some fun stuff I dmed both. In one case it was a lvl 25 kobald wizard npc which I got the idea from from the quintessential kobald character concepts (He was a dragon taker ie wanted to kill all dragons) he created an epic spell that could kill almost any dragon as a free action and be cast 11 times a day. I used him a a main story point as he was on a genocidal rampage killing good and evil dragons alike. the other was a large scale country based game in which the character playing the kobald empire leveled the drow and gnome empires because the players running them referred to her kobalds as "tard dragons" after seeing their cities sacked and bringing their leaders (the other PC's) to their knees she began laughing maniacally and screaming "whose a tard dragon?" before having them executed. |
| Kobold_Avenger12-01-06, 05:28 PM | I reasoned drow first since they have so many kobold slaves. |
| KoreKore12-01-06, 05:35 PM | actually due to overall geography she went through the gnomes into the drow with some assistance from the elves archons to deal with the drow's summoned pit fiends (oh for those who are curious we were using the book fields of blood it is exceedingly useful) beside the Drow and gnomes were allies. and both in the underdark |
| equilibrium1712-01-06, 06:06 PM | "Assault rifle" is a term Coined by Pro-gun Control Politions. It has no relavance to the power of the gun. Sorry to interrupt this little kobold love-fest, but as a sometime gun-collector, I really feel I must take issue with statement. The term "Assault Rifle" goes all the way back to the the very first such weapon, the WWII German SturmGewehr43/44. To quote from Wiki: The assault rifle name is a literal translation of the German word Sturmgewehr meaning "Storm Rifle", (Storm used as a verb being synonymous with assault, as in "to storm the compound"), but run together in German as German practice is for creating new compound terms. Sturmgewehr was coined by Adolf Hitler to describe the Sturmgewehr 44, the firearm generally considered the first practical widely-used assault rifle and effective progenitor of the concept. It gradually became the common (if not technically accurate) term for the sub-family of similar firearms, and also has been used retroactively with earlier weapons possessing such traits. . . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_rifle So you can thank good 'ol Uncle Adolf for the term. Now, I don't dispute your point that, starting in the mid- to late- 1970, the Gun Control lobby co-opted the term "Assault Rifle" as an evocative term to push their agenda. But they didn't "coin" the term, in any sense of the word. I also disagree that the definition of "Assault Rifle" has nothing to to with the "power of the gun", to use your phrase. I think most people knowledgeable about the subject would agree that a so-called "intermediate" cartridge is one of the defining characteristics of a true assault rifle, such as an M-16 or AK-47. Personal automatic firearms with higher energy, full-rifle caliber cartridges, such as the .30-06 BAR and M14, or the .303 Bren, are more properly termed "Automatic Rifles", and automatic firearms with pistol-caliber ammunition are more properly termed "submachine guns". Regards, EQ17 |
| unusualsuspect12-01-06, 07:02 PM | Kobolds are awesome, I must agree. That player has good taste. My current group has the same sort of restrictions, in that you can come from any setting and use any official book. If my current character dies in this Planescape game we're running (likelihood... yeah, I'll give a "very damn probably" to that), I plan on running a White Dragonwraught kobold sorcerer/incantatrix with the aforementioned Greater Draconic Rite of Passage. He'll be picking up 2 levels of elemental Savant, then Wyrm Wizard (Arcane Preparation feat takes care of prereqs, picked up at 18). End result: Casting as a 20th level sorcerer, with the addition of ANY spell of equal or lower level than the level of spell I can cast at 20th level. Say hello to a kobold metamagic machine who can cast MIRACLE spontaneously. *evil laugh* |

| unusualsuspect12-01-06, 07:45 PM | Why White? Mostly flavor. I'm trying to make the build ice-magic centered, and the White dragon seems fun. Plus, Alter Self into a wyrmling white dragon at 3rd level, for almost the best of every type of movement mode available. In one form. |

Poison Dusk Lizardfolk are looking pretty good atm. Even with LA:+1, (UA LA buyoff at 3rd level you can get this to LA:+0), they're looking good. Then ask your DM to step up the CR for the strong characters. Make them truely heroic by slaying monsters that would decimate normal adventurers. Much like Greek heroes. Or make every enemy Invincible so that inorder to defeat the simplest monsters you must find the weapon/item that can kill it. Instead of "Wizzing by" encounters. Optimize all you want, yet when you can't kill the group of monsters and rely on social and skill base game play, you're SOL.;) :P |

One good AOE blast would kill most them off v. a High level character. Even at low levels there's still a good chance of killing off all the warriors/experts quickly. Now if each Kobold had a character class, and were all equal level to the Players then ya, that be scary. |

| Keaerin12-04-06, 02:05 PM | I am also a big kobold fan played a really nasty rog/sor/arc trickster a year ago and was a really big surprise lots of ranged touch attacks from hiding with silent and still spell (enervation and ray of enfeeblement were favorites) Best kobold story though was this I was playing a remake of the above character in a trial game. A friend of mine wrote the vampire rules from whitewolf into 3.5 D&D. He started us off as a group of troublemaking youngsters in the city of westgate. I was playing a clueless scout for my tribe hiding in the sewers beneith the city. Well about 8 sessions in I got embraced by the gangrel as kinda a big goof. Well I head back to my tribe with the power I gained and procedded to turn about half my tribe into vampires as well (el for a rank 2 vampire was figured at about +5 since I was rank 3 all those I made were rank 2). After I turned 75 kobolds the chief ordered the rest to step up the breeding to help the ranks swell..... The rest of the party didn't find out till they saw a squad of kobolds abducting humans right out of there homes and carrying them into the sewers about 2 sesions after. The campaign ended shortly there after with a total party wipe but my GM was joking with me about the total disaster wesgate was in for in about 5-10 years or so when hundereds of vampiric kobolds attack the city and wipe it off the map. So I can honestly say kobolds (thanks to me) destroyed one of the major cities of the realms. edit spelling |

| Gnomemaster12-04-06, 06:06 PM | For a new Campaign setting I am setting up I want to have three subraces of Kobolds. I dislike Halflings and am using the good ol' boys to replace them. I see one race that raises dinosaurs (it makes a bit more sense to me, if not dinosaurs then some giant lizards. Another race that is naturally Psionic, and another that are artificer majors. |
| Kayoz_Majick12-04-06, 11:53 PM | ...I see one race that raises dinosaurs (it makes a bit more sense to me, if not dinosaurs then some giant lizards. A suggestion, if I may? Have the Kobolds that raise the dinosaurs actually raise dragons! When they are hatched, they are helpless (for a dragon anyways) and easy pickings for just about any PC's walking by. That leaves your big dragons free to do whatever it is that the nearly immortal do. Also, nothing like having a tribe of kobolds backed by a couple of hatchling and wyrmling (maybe even a juvenile) dragons of all sorts of fun colors! :D |
| Edge_of_Oblivion12-05-06, 12:59 AM | Yet Army ants don't have do deal with DR, AC, and their opponets ablity to kill entire droves of Kobolds. Fly + Enlarged Fireball = Dead Kobolds. If you have a Warlock or Dragonadept in the party, they can do it over and over. Tons of level 1 Kobolds v. lvl 20 party? Level 20 Barb does Intim. check, all kobolds run away. Or Lvl 20 Wiz/Sorc uses Cloud kill, killing off all the Kobolds that enter. We're not talking about Lvl 20 party vs tons of level 1 kobolds. We're talking Lvl 20 party vs tons of level 10-15 kobolds with something like 20+ level 17-20 commanders. |
| Thomar_of_Uointer12-05-06, 02:27 AM | Mmm... Good opportunity to post these. Solnze and Luna EL 3 Solnze and Luna are twin kobolds, hatched from the same egg. Among their tribe, twins are heralded as mystics with deep connections to the spirit world, capable of wielding great magical abilities. Unfortunately, when Solnze and Luna came of age, it was prophesized that they would bring a terrible cataclysm upon the world. Forced into exile, they now wander the upper levels of the Underdark in search of more prophetic hints as to what role they may play. Both of the twins have identical patterns of dull yellow scales streaked with a grayish blue. However, where Solnze has a yellow circle on his forehead, Luna's is a crescent. Solnze is the more boisterous and agressive of the pair. He is constantly on his toes, ready to spring into a fight at a moment's notice. Conversely, Luna is calm and laid back. Your companion heals any amount of damage you choose (it is possible to bring yourself to 0 or fewer hit points), and you lose an equal number of hit points. This damage cannot be resisted or bypassed in any way, damage reduction and regeneration do not lessen or change this damage, and the damage is typeless. Alternately, you may use this ability to absorb one poison or one disease afflicting your companion into yourself. When you absorb a poison or disease, you do not take any of the damage previously dealt to your companion by the affliction, but you do assume the burden of making the secondary and/or continuing Fortitude saves to combat the affliction. Your companion also becomes subject to the effect if possible, and if she succeeds on her save so do you. Share Spells: At your option, you may have any spell (but not spell-like ability) you cast on yourself also affect your companion. The companion must be within 5' at the time of the casting to receive the benefit. If the spell or effect has a duration other than instantaneous, it stops affecting your companion if she moves farther than 5' away and will not affect her again even if she returns before the duration expires. Additionally, you may cast a spell with a target of "You" on your companion (as a touch range spell) instead of on yourself. You and your companion may share spells even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of your companion's type. Deliver Touch Spells (Su): Your companion can deliver touch spells for you. If you and your companion are in contact at the time you cast a touch spell, you can designate your companion as the "toucher." You companion can then deliver the touch spell just as you could (using its own base attack bonus). As usual, if you cast another spell before the touch is delivered, the touch spell dissipates. Scrying (Sp): You may scry on your companion (as if casting the scrying spell as a caster of your level) once per day. |
| PolasKasDorion12-05-06, 10:39 AM | KOBOLDS!!!!!! Love those little guys. I'm currently playing an Arctic Kobold Frost Mage... probably the most fun/best character I've ever played. Currently he's level 9 and beginning his Greater Draconic Rite of Passage. Upon finishing the 9 days of fasting followed by the 24 hours of meditation he will be amazzzzezzing! Actually... he pretty much is amazing right now. I'm pretty sure my DM hates him... mostly because it's his first time to DM in 20 years... during those 20 years he's done nothing but play Wizards... the same one... in every campaign. And now I (a guy known for playing fighter types) am playing a Sorcerer build that puts every Wizard he's ever made to shame. Basically... after the GDRoP I'll have the spell list of a 10th level Sorcerer, have a caster level of 15, AC of 23 sans buffing, and just be all around cool! In fact, he's so amazing that he survived an attack from a Plot Wizard. Basically this 16th level Wizard came in and attacked our 8th level party. He did some 7th level sleep spell on everybody else each round... dropping them one by one. He started coming for me, but being a self-preserving Kobold, I was ready for him. I already had a Coldfire Wall between us and had gone invisible. He dispelled the first wall without rolling (the check would have been a 24)... kind of ****** me off, but I also knew that he was a plot Wizard so I didn't complain... too much. So I threw up another wall and stepped through a secret door, used my one scroll of Expeditious Retreat, cast Mirror Image and weaved my way through the dungeon, circling back around behind the Mage who coudn't get through the secret door. By this time he and his warband had tied up the rest of the party and were en route to their dungeon inside a dungeon. It was up to me to follow and spring my associates from prison!!! Easily done with a little prestidigitation to distract the guards and a little bit of luck. Man... good times. Honestly don't think I could have done it with any other character. Maybe, I'll get organized someday and put my character build on the optimization boards... my group keeps telling me to do so... but for now.. .I'm just enjoying the raw power that is KOBOLD!!! |
| SiouLubb12-05-06, 11:46 AM | The Draconic Rite is always nice. Identify once a day with no material compnent. For my Kobold, I took the rite, but ended up taking Grease as my spell instead. Why? Because my kobold is a ninja, and making your opponents balance lets me Sudden Strike..... Kobolds make awesome ninjas. If you want to terrify a group of PCs further, sic a group of kobold ninjas on them. It's a nice change from the usual trap-monkey kobolds, but just as lethal. A kobold Ninja's AC rises pretty far, pretty fast. My 2nd level Kobold is running with a 20 AC at the moment. In the words on my DM "Why do I even try to hit you?" |

The River Styx will overflow with the blood of our foes!! The Upper Planes will be stained with the blood of gnomes, elves, halflings, fey, and others! The demons, devils and yugoloths will beg for mercy!! We shall enslave the drow, orcs, goblinoids, beholders, and mindflayers!!(we might just kill them all instead) Muhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahah ahahhahahahahah!!!!!!!!! He goes around believing this and doing good everywhere, what every one doesn't know is I'm entering a PrC later out of a mongoose book called Blood Child. Which gives him the same stuff as cleric spell wise and just gives him cool things that make him really the decendent of Bahamut. |

Level Ability 1st-5th Mind barrier 6th-10th Share spells 11th-15th Deliver touch spells 16th-20th Scrying Mind Barrier (Ex): If you fail a saving throw against a mind-affecting effect, your companion may choose to buffer you at her expense. Scrying (Sp): You may scry on your companion (as if casting the scrying spell as a caster of your level) once per day. second longest post ever, after this one, since I have yours as a quote.:ton: :ton: :ton: :ton: |

| Sul_Zain_Aserbet12-06-06, 07:55 PM | I loved Kobolds when they were more like little yorkshire terrier humanoids rather than shrimpy lizardmen. |
| Edge_of_Oblivion12-07-06, 01:16 AM | If you're still treating kobolds like terriers OR miniature lizardfolk, you need someone to send you a digital copy of Races of the Dragon and Slayer's Guide to Kobolds and read them both a few times. All of them, both of them. A lot of times. |

| Edge_of_Oblivion12-08-06, 12:43 AM | As soon as I get a scanner that works, I'll post some of the concept art for the evil party I mentioned in my first post on this thread, with particular emphasis on Cheel. :D |
| Archangel6212-08-06, 01:00 AM | Kobolds are pretty cool, one of my players in an Eberron game was a Dragonwrought Kobold Warlock, an agent of his people to seek the prophecies of the great Syberris. He also had a very grand and difficult to pronounce title. The beginning of the game was him saying "I'm a Dragon!" to a few disbelieving party members when they mocked him. Later it turned to them stating to their foes, "We warn you, he's a dragon." |
| Kobold_Avenger12-14-06, 02:56 AM | a kobold with the pyrokenicticst(however it's spelled) PrC would be awesome. It gets a flaming whip made of ectoplasm, grant fire resist, a firebolt thing, a save or die thing that boils that targets blood, and an AoE, that if enemies fail the reflex saves, they than have make a fort save or die. |
| aaronsneary12-14-06, 06:38 PM | Make a new Game world with a roll reversal of Kobolds being the standard race and pitch it to WOTC. What to call it ? Humans & Houses 3.5 |
| Kobold_Avenger12-16-06, 04:58 AM | Humans & Houses 3.5 Lol!! |

| Nessaj01-01-07, 09:44 PM | Kobolds do amuse me greatly. I was there to witness the beginning of the end of Westgate, set up by Keaerin's little spawn of a kobold. Hm...I've only played a single Kobold myself. Erlizzthryzynn, my Kobold Warlock. Only got to play him for 3 games, but he was a very fun character. He was arrogant to the extreme and destroyed/killed wantonly, mostly because he knew how people felt towards the common Kobold, and so stood up as a shining example of what any kobold could become with a little effort...A touch of demonic blood never hurts either. A demon-spawned Kobold exemplar who became a lich in the last game (don't ask). He was the toadie of a half-vampire PC my friend was playing. The entire party looked down apon him for being a kobold, including his chosen master, but once his master's plan to take over the world failed, we had made an out-of game agreement to switch control of the leash; Kobold would be the master and my friend (who would have become a full vampire) would be the servant. Too bad that game went down the drain. A common utterance around the game table: "Detect Magic...No? I Shatter it." |
| Kraven_Redcloak01-03-07, 10:06 PM | I love Kobolds, they are amongst the most interesting of the commonly seen monstrous races. Throughout my entire career as a gamer I have only ever seen two Kobold PC's, the first of which (a Kobold rogue by the name of Krueger) was killed in a catastrophic battle with 12 Greater Air Elementals that unfortunately claimed the lives of everyone in the party. The second, Kraven Redcloak, is played by myself. He follows the sterotypical Kobold personality in that he appears weak and cowardly in front of the party, but in truth he merely prefers subtly to sheer brute strength. Coincidently his personality has become very similar to Smeagol/Gollum from Lord of the Rings, switching back and forth from one distinct personality to the other depending on the party's location. Being a fighter/rogue he is both cunning and deceitful, taking great care to avoid drawing too much attention to himself but capable of holding his own in an all out confrontation. He has proven to be stronger and more intelligent then the average kobold. However like most Kobolds he is often looked down upon due to his less then formidable heritage, something of which he is quick to take advantage of. He plans to unite the various Kobold tribes surrounding the Wild Coast and form the Kobold Nation with the Lost Mine of Kurtulmak as the capital, he has already assumed command of several small tribes (totalling around a hundred or so altogether). Currently he is on his way towards gaining a level in Sorcerer. |
| journeyman77701-04-07, 12:02 AM | For the crowning achievement, has anyone killed a dragonslayer with their kobold character? |

| knoway2101-05-07, 12:01 PM | I'm in the middle of playing a dragonwrought kobold sorceress right now. I've out lived the starting party and half of the secondary party. My alinment when we started was CN and still is. Next level I get my red dragon's breath weapon and the level after that i'll be getting the dragon resestice feat to have a fire resist of 24. This is by far my favoret caracter that i've played, and the only reason that it's still alive is because i've been playing the kobold fearless/fearful mindsets just the way they should be played. :) |
| celestialkin01-05-07, 05:48 PM | What do you guys think of playing a kobold rouge? I could really use some advice on the subject. I recently played a kobold rouge for two levels (until my group switched DMs and campaign), and he was difficult to work with. I loved his stealthiness (for starters he had a 14 hide modifier at level 1), and the race seems perfect for the job, but due to the -4 strength he was useless in any form of combat. Do any of you know of a good way to get past this handicap? Would crafting poisons for my arrows be enough to make up for my lack of damage? Thanks. |
| Kraven_Redcloak01-06-07, 08:05 PM | Kobold's make awesome rogues, despite the negative modifiers in strength their bonuses in dexterity and small size more then make up for their lack of physical power. Well a good idea would probably be to multiclass him into a fighter since at fourth level the Kobold's racial substitution would give him a plus 2 bonus to strength. However if you don't want to do that you're best bet is to specialize in hit and run tactics, study your surroundings before or during the fight and make the most of your Hide bonus. Then when your opponent least suspect it jump out and attack with Sneak attack. I've found that by keeping low and making the most of the Kobold's natural strengths and abilities can be an efficient method of combat and can actually save your skin. Also be sure to invest in getting items that add to your abilities scores like a Belt of Giant Strength and Gloves of Dexterity. Items that augment the rogue's Sneak attack like Sword of Sublty are also a must and rings of enlargement and reduction can come in handy during certain combat situations. The cloak of the bat can be real useful during getaways provide you know how to use it properly. If you're playing an evil alignment don't be afraid to use your companions to your advantage, remember that they're expendable as long as you can come out alive. |

Better idea - Multiclass as Swordsage, spend a feat on the Shadow Hand feat Shadow Blade. Dex Modifier to Damage - that piffy Strength penalty means NOTHING. |

| Draginja03-09-07, 05:33 PM | I don't see why kobolds aren't used more often. I have a Kobold Ninja, and he is easily my favorite character. |
| Yar03-12-07, 04:31 AM | My favoriate character of all time is my Kobold Rogue/barbarian. Basicaly imagine a Kobold version of Conan. And you have a pretty good idea of my character. | Satyrus03-15-07, 10:49 PM | One of my favorite characters is grug the mutilated. A kobold with a bit of a mental problem. He's so fun to play Mnk6/Rog3. Most characters don't expect the quick brutal bolas balls flying at them or the torture that follows.;) |
| The Crimson Dawn03-16-07, 04:24 AM | My absolute favorite character is my 2nd level Dragonfire Adept Kobold in a modified Eberron. My DM has allowed me a few house rules. First that I get dragonwraught as my bonus feat instead of Dragontouched. I am also still allowed to take draconic feats and he has allowed those kobold rituals to apply to Dragonfire adept instead of sorcerer. He is a hoot and he is the only character to be called by name rather than by player in combat. He is also fought over to be in your group such as when we need to split up (no I want him. But you got him last time). I have never been so happy with a character in my life. Oddly he is not that great at combat though he is the ultimate knowledge (everything) guy and he does deal consistant damage with his breath weapon. Characterwise he is a combo of Deekin (Neverwinter Nights), Caespenar the imp (impish butler of Bhaal in Baldur's Gate 2), and some of my own strangeness. |

| Rheios03-16-07, 11:34 PM | I too enjoy the kobold, and am thinking of playing it in one of my friend's later campaigns. (I'm currently a dwarf gestalt duskblade/fighter) My only question is how bad does thier light sensitivity effect you guys? I was actually thinking about making a subrace of kobolds without the sensitivity. (They only have low-light vision however) And also more bonus languages. If I posted it up would my fellow kobold lovers tell me if its balanced? |
| Rheios03-16-07, 11:46 PM | Here's what I have so far: Gnoll-slaved Kobold Ability modifiers: as kobold small size 30ft land speed low-light vision no light sensitivity Racial skills: craft(trapmaking): +2 Search +2 move silently+2 automatic langauages: Draconic, gnoll bonus langauges: Common, Indercommon, Gnome, Goblin Interaction modifiers: +2 when dealing with former gnoll slaves. -10 on intimidate checks with Gnolls. Favored class: rogue |
| Ace_of_time03-16-07, 11:50 PM | Kobold used to have a -6 on str so they're working their way up. I use one named Kob 5th sorc/ 3rd fighter with practiced spellcaster. I have three levels to go to become a lich. I'm going to put 2 on sorc and than 1 more on fighter. I have to wait with a temp PC till the group gets a few levels and than it will be a first for all kobold kind. ( I'm going to have a hall in my lair with frozen enemies. ha ha ha) |
| Rheios03-17-07, 12:19 AM | I apologize in advance if you find that my explination did not suit thier koboldy greatness. I can only humbly lay myselves at your feet asking forgiveness. Then when you turn around hit the button opening up the spike pit underneath you. *koboldy grin* Explanation: Gnoll-slaved kobolds are kobolds formerly captured by gnolls. Typically they are captured to serve as scouts and trap makers when enslaved. Gnolls also enjoy using them for entertainment. Typically by seeing what vile things they can do to them. More than one slave creature has died from this but they enjoy the kobolds most of all. Particularly because of their draconic heritage. They have their fiendish leaders and clerics magically change them. Most times this leads to very little true effects other than pain. However sometimes the gnolls strike on something they see as a good idea. One of these they applied to their slaves. The kobolds, since they had dark vision, could act behind their backs- even in their pitch back cages. To help remove this ability they took away their dark vision. This had an opposite effect however. They could no longer blind them with light. The gnolls used this to their advantage however. Using them to scout out a threat’s strength before attacking it. The kobolds learn quickly to stay silent so as not to attract the gnoll’s attention. Kobolds, however, are not used to cowing out completely, but only when it is healthy to do so. This surviving nature typically makes them the leaders of most other slaves that are their size. They also typically slip around their gnollish overlords and can sometimes kill gnolls, if their not careful, or alert adventurers of the gnoll’s actions. They have no real dislike for any race of their position.(Though even in the best of them, Kobolds distaste for gnomes is great. Sometimes they even volunteer paticuarly annoying gnomes as "trap-testers") For example, they take full use of goblin tendencies for cheating and gnomish tendencies for illusion whenever they can. Sometimes these skills weave together in successful escape attempts. (Typically ending up with the former slaves finding adventurers- or becoming them- and eliminating their enslavers) All gnoll-slaved kobolds despise gnolls and their utter loathing often leads them to do horrible things to any gnoll caught by them. (Though this is not always the case. {see alignment below}) Once they have escape these kobolds find their skill learnt from prison to be eminently useful as thieves. Alignment: These formerly enslaved creatures tend towards no real alligment. Many of them having lost some of their pasts, or beliefs, long ago. They are just as likely to be Lawful good, questing to end their racial torment, or chaotic evil, believing might makes right and wishing to spill the blood of their oppressors. In the case of Dragon wrought: The gnolls love to terrorize these rare births whenever they can. Using their magical blood to concoct evil potions or cast truly evil spells. Normally experiments done to dragon-wrought gnoll-slave kobolds drive them mad, at least for a time. These kobolds do have a benefit however. Most of them escape as soon as they can. Most times because gnolls make even one mistake, like forgetting they can see in the dark, and its all over. Sometimes, dragons find out about this treatment of the dragon wrought and, though few and far between, step in to free them. Typically when this occurs the gnolls die in droves. The kobolds (and other slaves) cheer. |
| Rheios03-17-07, 12:21 AM | I want to visit your hall! :) A lich kobold. Awesome. Now you have little to fear from melee comabt (if the need arises)! |
| Rheios03-17-07, 12:38 AM | I was also thinking of creating some kobold "trap weapons". For example: an arrow whose head comes off when attempting to be pulled from a person's body. This then realises a deadly toxin throught thier body , and leaves the arrowhead inside. (think a bee. only have the poison inside the tip of the arrowhead, in between the shaft and the head. probably in a little capsul. Then the inpact would break the capsul and allow the posion to come out when the arrow was removed.) Yes, on occasion I'm a create-aholic.:lightbulb :ton: :embarrass I make things too much probably, but I try to not overpower anything. That just makes eveything boring. Creativity can be fun though.:D |
| Rheios03-18-07, 03:06 PM | This race is probably a mute point! I just found out that in races of the dragon there are dark goggles which allow you to overcome the sunlght for just 10 gold. (Any non darkvision character wearing them takes a -2 on attacks and AC(?)) |
| Psychofox03-18-07, 04:36 PM | I have fun playing a kobold sorcerer. We started above ground and were captured by drow within 5 minutes of starting, and so far the goal of this arc of the campaign is to escape the underdark. I am level 5. I play it as a Nuetral-leaning-toward-Chaotic good personality, which can be pretty fun. To overcome the whole bright light intolerance my DM made a sub race of above-ground farming kobolds. Strength 7. It's ridiculious, but I make up for it with a Dexterity of 18 (17 plus 1 at 4th level). She is an extremely fun character to play. At first, all the other characters looked down upon me, but after countless battles and amazing displays of leadership, I have become the 'leader' of the group, which consists of a Druid, a Githzeri/yanki (not sure which) ranger or scout, an orc or half-orc barbarian or fighter of monk, and a warforged. And me, the two and a half foot tall lizard. After many sessions of my character eating anything it comes across that looks remotely edible (glowing fungus, monster corpses, dorw corpses, leather armor, shiny things, broken arrows, broken daggers, rope, any kind of spill, blood, wood, ash, etc.) my DM told me to write in 'Iron Stomach' under special abilities. Any time at all that my character gets excited or needs everyones attention, she screams out 'KYIP' over and over and over until everyone is paying attention. That also happens to be her name. Minor funny events; After being thrown in jail in the underdark (the charge: not being drow) I managed to get a natural 20 on an intimidate check on all the other big nasty drow inmates. I was the new cell queen. Same time as above, one of our characters was using his 'man-stache' to assert his authority over the other inmates. So I cast 'ray of frost' on his face, jumped, and ran my finger across his upper lip, snapping away the moustache like a bunch of icicles. The sound it made was described as 'brrrrrrrrrdt'! I was punted across the cell for that. Acid splash on some drow's face, followed by a crit with a crossbow the next round. Arrow strikes dead center in the tiny dimple formed by the acid splash. Got a familiar at fourth level. It is 'fine' sized, and runs all over my body when excited. The small size is always fun. Being able to be thrown to high ledges and be picked up for scouting helps a lot. |
| Draginja03-31-07, 05:41 PM | What about Kobold spellcasters? A friend recently used a Kobold Black Mage to create a Hadoken spell. Very interesting to see 5 Storm Giants fleeing in fear when the Kobold starts saying "Ha...Do..." And Kobold Ninjas RULE! |
| Draginja04-22-07, 04:15 PM | Here's an interesting idea: A pair of Kobold twins, brothers, each a Rogue. What kind of things could they do together? |

| sigma99904-22-07, 11:32 PM | Why thank you for the offer, but I must politely decline. Many lesser races to devour in a near-infinite lifespan, you know. |
| Ace_of_time04-24-07, 06:15 PM | Most of them are not willing participants. I wonder what it feels like to slowly die from hunger. May be I'll hang some of those lesser race recipes in over your nose. I have a dragon camp now where DW kobolds are overseers and are a ruling class. |
| Oakes04-24-07, 09:47 PM | You'll only get PCs who play kobolds and DMs here, seeing as any DM who runs kobolds correctly will make the PCs loathe kobolds at any level. It's worth agreeing with months after the fact. Certain players have had a dungeon door slammed shut in their faces by the lovely little humanoids. One in particular will never live down the fact that he (a minotaur) was handily slain by the CR 3 yapping pack minutes later. |
| QOShea05-10-07, 11:48 PM | My current character is Orix the Blue Wyrm. And yes, that is how he writes his name when he has to. Dragonwrought (Blue) Dragonfire Adept, currently Level 4. He's 2'6" tall, even the dwarf is practically half his height lol. Current quote, "I AM THE BLUE WYRM!" (Said after he smacked an orc shaman with a crossbow bolt and blasted several goblins with lightning.) Stats (rolled in front of DM): STR 10 INT 14 DEX 17 WIS 12 CON 17 CHA 15 Current Skills (counting bonuses from invocations, race, & stats): Bluff +15; Craft: Trapmaking +11; Diplomacy +8; Hide +9; Intimidate +15; Knowledge (Dungoneering) +9; Listen +9; Search +3; Spot +9 Feats: Dragontouched (from class) Dragonwrought (Blue) 1st level Dragon Wings 3rd level Possible future feats: Improved Dragon Wings @ 6th level Leadership or Improved Speed (Draconomicon) @ 9 Flyby or Hover from MM @ 12 I like the thought of him diving down and strafing a crowd with lightning LOL. | fiendish_platypus05-11-07, 04:35 PM | A kobold...weresquirrel? I've got to here the story behind this one. I was trained in a monestary hidden in the forest and one day when he was wandering around the forest a pack of giant squirrel, attacked him, creamed him to a bluddy pulp and left him to die. When he woke up he survived, and didn't contract lycanthropy. When he returned to the monestary, however, it was filled with weresquirrel hybrid ninjas. Then he contracted lycanthropy. That was a one-shot solo campaign, I'm now going to be using him in an upcoming campaign at a lower level (he was around ten originally, now 2) |

| PigFiend05-13-07, 09:12 AM | First of all, whatever makes Kobolds and Goblins get Speed 30, Halflings and Gnomes have got to learn it. In a campaign I ran, the combats the PCs did worst in were against Kobolds (1st level) and Goblins (4th level). True, it was a numbers thing. An equal number of Orcs with the same resources and levels would have been more difficult. Numbers are generally a facet of Ks and Gs, though. Three Kobolds with cover, a blinding trap, and a hidden Dire Weasel were much worse than the invisible Orc 3rd level cleric at the end of the adventure. A Goblin patrol of one 3rd level Warrior, two 2nd level Warriors, a couple Worgs, a 1st level Bard, and three flunkies totally murdered the PCs. (I gave them a do-over.) By comparison, the very prepared Medusa and her Ogre bodyguards were an easy win for them. - PigFiend |
| Horus_Sungod05-13-07, 10:12 AM | Kobolds make good hats. See Order of the Stick for more details :) |
| fiendish_platypus05-13-07, 12:01 PM | Kobolds make good hats. See Order of the Stick for more details :) That made me laugh, with Yipyip the Swashbuckler, oh man. |
| Draginja05-13-07, 04:37 PM | Yipyip the Swashbuckler Actually, it was Yokyok, the son of Yikyik. And a Kobold could make a nice hat, but only if it was made of leather and trapped... Helmet of poison needle, anyone? |
| Ace_of_time05-13-07, 09:41 PM | A tad confusing, but an interesting idea if you mean the kobold is a lich. I wonder if a dragonwrought kobold could become a dracolich.... Q He couldn't speak to the rest of the group when we first started so they just called him Kob and the name has been with him going on 15 levels now. Yes he is a kobold. I think the only req for that is being a dragon and being an adult. I don't see a problem with it. |
| Kraven_Redcloak05-14-07, 07:43 PM | Technically any creature with the Dragon or Dragonblood subtype will become a Dracolich since their draconic blood will prevent them from becoming anything else. So creatures such as Kobolds and Half-Dragons will become Dracoliches since for all intensive purposes they technically count as Dragons. |
| QOShea05-29-07, 07:29 PM | Excuse me while I go stat out your super genius idea. How did the were-moose turn out? Q |
| baby_kamikaize_kobold06-02-07, 05:00 PM | While I am not a non-believer to the might of kobolds, I always thought they were like a race of bipedal dogmen. So where did wizards get tiny dragon-blooded lizards of awsome? (not that I'm complaining I was just curious, so don't hurt me nice kobies!) |
| fiendish_platypus06-02-07, 05:38 PM | How did the were-moose turn out? Q It actually turned out pretty good, I'd post it, but it's on my other computer (I still don't have internet on it though)... </grumble> |
| Dead_Weasel06-02-07, 06:16 PM | Reptilian kobolds appeared in 3.0; IIRC AD&D 2nd Ed. described them as ratlike, with voices like yipping dogs. Doglike kobolds can be found in Everquest; Warcraft's kobolds are reasonably ratlike. Apparently the original mythical creature is more like a brownie than the goblinesque persona they have acquired recently. |
| Ace_of_time06-02-07, 07:13 PM | He couldn't speak to the rest of the group when we first started so they just called him Kob and the name has been with him going on 15 levels now. Yes he is a kobold. I think the only req for that is being a dragon and being an adult. I don't see a problem with it. sorry I was thinking about dragon vampires. |
| Draginja06-20-07, 10:44 AM | For a Pirates 3 inspired Kobold story, check the tag... This is from the last entrance my Pirate made to catching up to the party, I had been gone a few sessions. I decided to take my boat, a little one, Swoop like is the best way to describe it. The DM description went like this. DM: Alright, Arhkan, you see something coming over the hills, the tip of a mast with a bit if sails. It bobs back down and a few moments later comes back up, showing you the distinct full bore of sails. At this moment, you realize you are facing away from the sea. PC(Other one): Wait...what? DM: As the ship comes over the hill and you see Caspian(My character) standing atop the mast, you see beneath the ship three hundred kobalds, doing their best to sprint towards you. And the rest of the group was amazed...cost me 1,500 gold. |
| Magon07-04-07, 04:39 AM | KOBOLDS FTW. i like cool kobolds. the ones that control a subcontinent the size of india. SWORDSAGE KOBOLDS (ninja FTW) WARBLADE KOBOLDS. come and get screwd |
| Slayergnome07-04-07, 06:45 AM | For a CR of 1/4, kobolds are the freakin' sweetest. I mean, Meepo beat the TARRASQUE in the creature competition. Thats cause Meepo is by far the greatest NPC beside Erky Timbers who did amazing amazing things in a game I ran. I love that campign series. |
| lucianbear07-04-07, 10:30 PM | i love kobolds but my DM will never ever let me play them any more :weep: |
| QOShea10-03-07, 08:57 PM | My current character is Orix the Blue Wyrm. And yes, that is how he writes his name when he has to. Alas, the campaign that I was playing a kobold has died, not with a bang but with a whimper. Darn jobs that take more hours over the summer months. Anyway, I'm working up a newer version of Orix, plotted out to about level 15 so far, focusing on scaring the bejesus out of people with two versions of Frightening Presence. At level 15, with no magic items, has Intimidate +46. Scary freaking kobold! |
| Darth Sephiroth10-05-07, 09:42 AM | I'd had fun playing a Kobold in a Gestalt game. He's currently nearing epic levels at level 19 as a Dragonwrought Kobold Dragonblooded, Planar Sorcerer/Kobold Paragon//Dragon Blooded Cleric. He worships Tamara though he does have a mean streak against those he views as cruel (At one point he summoned an Aspect of Bahamut on top of another Kobold tribe that was worshiping Ashardalon). Part of the fun was that he didn't have a name (He joined the party with amnesia and doesn't care about his previous life), and several evil dragons and dragon blooded creatures have started referring to him as the Unnamed Terror and leave the area if he's around. |
| Kesthol10-07-07, 01:49 AM | I love Kobolds. They make funny squeaky noises when I step on them. That would be the sound I make prior to using my breath weapon. :dragon: |
| Illithid0011-22-07, 01:05 AM | Kobolds have to be the most versatile, most awesome creatures out there. WotC really came through for the kobolds when they printed Races of the Dragon. |
| Threefists11-22-07, 06:18 PM | Have to admit, I'm not fond of the Kurtlemak-(sp?)-worshipping Kobolds, they're just too high strung. Needz Decaf. That said, if the DM is the sort who doesn't just say "It's evil, it's got a freaky skin colour, you have to kill it", scattering random tribes of Io-worshipping Kobolds around makes for a great plot-hook. The town of Gnomes who hires you to wipe out the nearby Kobold tribe ends up being the one the party has to use Diplomacy on when the Io-Worshippers explain, after using non-lethal damage and non-violent traps to subdue you and then using Cure spells to bring you back to consciousness, they want to get to know the Gnomes rather than just kill them. I love those sorta games. My Kobold Sorcerer ended up securing diplomatic alliances with most of the power centers around his Tribe's mine, even to the point of willing exchange programs with that town of Gnomes when young Kobolds and Gnomes were exchanged to learn of each other's cultures. I'm normally a Half-Orc/Dwarf/Half-Ogre/Human/Orc guy (in that order), but Kobolds do hold a special place in my heart (along with Goblins, Bugbears and Tome Dragons) simply because of their blatant tenacity. Also, screaming "MEEEEEEP, MERK MERK, MEEEEEP!" amd claiming it's a traditional Kobold Swear-Word can add some much needed humour to the table. |
| Bahumut11-23-07, 12:39 AM | i love kobolds so much, i named my pet rats Meepo and Deekin! i got an "I Brake for Kobolds" bumper sticker! my nickname in my group is "Kobold Lover"! yeah, i have an unhealthy obsession with the little draconic runts :D |
| Darth Sephiroth11-23-07, 01:40 AM | I'd ditched Kurtlemak from my game, having the Kobolds worshiping Dragon deities pretty much exclusively. One campaign I'm running involved a rather friendly tribe of Kobolds who worship Io, Bahamut, and Tamara. They were conquered by a power hungry Dragonwrought who worshiped Garyx (At the moment the megalomaniac is attempting his own divine ascension) with an army of Dragonspawn... For the first third of the game the kobolds were a friendly, nearby group and then they started investigating why there were kobolds raiding caravans until they found an escaped healer (Dragonwrought Kobold Sorcerer [Silver feats and Arcane Disciple taken a few times for the right spells]) who told her story and the party decided to begin their rescue attempt through the ancient island city-fortress ruins of a multi-millenia abandoned dragon city. |
| YamiShinobi12-01-07, 02:25 AM | kobolds are so cute. i would love a kobold plushie. they are so adorable, i would love a kobold as a cohort. venrable dragonwrougth kobolds especially. w/ sorcerer class. |
| Kobold_Avenger12-01-07, 02:28 PM | Someone so needs to make a High-Tech campaign setting with kobold super solders. Kobold Space Marines/Spartan II's FTW!! |
| taradusis12-01-07, 02:46 PM | If you have the D20 modern and D20 Future rules you could give kobolds laser rifles and body armor to make them like short Imperial Stormtroopers?Imagine carrie fisher saying"Aren't you a little short to be an Imperial Stormtrooper?" |
| Kobold_Avenger12-01-07, 07:18 PM | :D  :w00t: Good one Taradusis! Still, storm troopers aren't what I would call super soldiers. Have a cookie though.:cookie: |
| taradusis12-13-07, 06:27 PM | I ponder what would make a kobold into a high-tech super-soldier? PATAGIA-flaps of skin that run fron the wrists to the ankles that allow gliding like a flying squirrel? GILLS- ability to breathe underwater allows them to function better than navy seal? Maximum dexterity-boost dexterity through training and breeding till it reaches the low 20's? ARMOR CLASS-I beleive that the max. natural ac is +8? This would be the equivelent of rhino hide? HASTE-Instead of berserk which eliminates Dex based skills how about the ability to go into a biology-based Haste, this would make kobolds more like quicklings from 2 ED? POISON -a poisonous bite or spit? Just some Random Thoughts. |
| taradusis05-22-08, 07:40 PM | On the desirability of two-headed kobolds. Savage Species has a template for adding additional heads to creatures. A small creature like a kobold could have one head added. This would add 2 monster hit die. Each head would control one arm allowing two weapons to be used without penalty. Each head takes turns sleeping, allowing constant activity. This is gives you a creature that's roughly the equal of a hobgoblin, only more numerous, magical and sneaky. |
| Legdiwena05-23-08, 12:10 PM | Got a page number from SS? |
| taradusis05-23-08, 10:06 PM | Page 124 Multi-headed creature. |
| JulesCARV05-24-08, 02:42 AM | I don't think any kobold-love thread is complete without this picture: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/ph2_gallery/97172.jpg |
| Legdiwena05-24-08, 11:01 AM | Nice pic, where'd you get it? |
| JulesCARV05-24-08, 02:36 PM | It's from the PHB II art gallery, under the title "Kobold Manservant," although as far as I know it never actually appeared in the printed PHB II, which is a pity, because that li'l guy is just adorable. |
| taradusis07-07-08, 06:32 PM | Now I had some thoughts on adding the cold subtype to kobolds to make minions for a White dragon. These would be a pushover for a party armed with fireballs,But the lair of a white dragon improved by a few dozen kobold traps would be more of a challange? |
| QOShea11-24-08, 09:48 AM | Has there been any word on whether or not Kobolds with the Dragonwrought feat qualify as True Dragons since they have age categories? |
| turalisj11-26-08, 01:12 AM | Anyone thought of statting up a nation of kobolds? I was thinking something similar to the Ancient Greek nations, with each city-state in their own part of a massive ruins. Together these 'city'-states form one massive nation of kobold. Goes well with my kobold swordsage, Lt.Verthica aka the Blackfist. |
| Kraven_Redcloak12-01-08, 10:45 AM | Well I don't know about a Greek or Roman society but in the campaign setting I play in my kobold Rog/Ftr/Sor Kraven Redcloak has recently become the ruler of the Pomarj and is slowly going through the process of converting it to the Kobold Nation. We're also going to be having a Kobold Uprising going on outside the country so we might have more then one pretty soon. Still need to work out a few things for it though. |
| Spastic_Kobold12-01-08, 11:23 AM | Oooo! A thread worshipping me! Kobolds FTW! Kobold soulknife 3s... |
| GalaGalaxia12-01-08, 02:44 PM | Has there been any word on whether or not Kobolds with the Dragonwrought feat qualify as True Dragons since they have age categories? No, they don't. It's not just about having age categories. It's about advancing in power as you get older. |
| turalisj12-01-08, 02:50 PM | Hey guys, mind heading to the Guild House (link in my sig) and forming the Kobold Foundation? We could always use more people over there :D |
| MiscDebris12-01-08, 03:30 PM | No, they don't. It's not just about having age categories. It's about advancing in power as you get older. Mind citing a rule on that? |
| GalaGalaxia12-01-08, 03:37 PM | Mind citing a rule on that? It's in Draconomicon. AFB right now, but I can possibly quote some valuable info later. I know the info is partly in the section describing true dragons and in the little sidebar on that same page. Reading that along with the feat description for Dragonwrought and the info about kobolds in Races of the Dragon makes it quite clear that not all dragons are true dragons. A dragonwrought kobold is in most aspects just a lesser dragon ... except for the fact that they have age categories. But then again, so do normal kobolds as well, making it clear that age categories themselves are not what make a true dragon, even if having the dragon type. |
| TheDarkPrince12-01-08, 03:43 PM | I'm not trying to flame or anything...I'm just curious: Why do people love Kobolds so much? I guess I'm just out of the loop on this one.... Thanks, Cheers! :D |
| turalisj12-01-08, 09:17 PM | Because comerad, de kobold are de black sheep of de en de. No von hexpects de svall wittle kobold ta be a threat. :D But seriously, it's all about the RP aspect. No one expects a person to be playing a kobold (except my group, who are now calling me 'the psionics guy' and 'the kobold freak'). Especialy not a kobold swordsage with 6 strength, 20 dexterity, and the shadow blade feat ^_^; |
| GalaGalaxia12-01-08, 10:54 PM | Kobolds are awesome! The whole idea of little rabid crazy creatures running around and trying to kill people in a swarm ... there's something sexy about that. Then give them class levels, and see the little piece of weakness shine. Everyone is surprised, and you have lots of fun. |
| turalisj12-01-08, 11:55 PM | Nothing like a first level kobold monk with the paragon template. |
| BPRDagent12-02-08, 08:14 AM | I'm literally looking through Races Of Dragon right now and was on my way here to make a topic. I might be joining a game where we got to make a 3rd level character and thinking of doing a Kobold Ranger. Got no idea where to start its 32 Point Buy though any suggestions? Is it worth taking any of the Kobold feats in the book? The Endurance one seems kinda needed to overcome the low stats for example? |

| BPRDagent12-02-08, 02:39 PM | What depends largely on what you want out of your ranger. Hmm see I wondered off and did some thinking and while it be cool to have one the logistics of actualy having it in a group of normal races means I might stick to the fighter since the racial substitution levels for Kobold Fighter are quite cool. to be honest with the Ranger I just wanted the ability to ride a Dire Weasel and have it like a Druid's Companion. |
| turalisj12-02-08, 03:03 PM | Kobold swordsage with the shadowblade and weapon finesse feats with the unarmed strike variant. Nothing like having the weak kobold who can't even do a pushup kicking the teeth out of someone in a barfight. :D Slightly off topic, anyone interested in running a kobold game on Rpol.net? |

| BPRDagent12-04-08, 06:54 AM | Hey me again, so I got to make a level 3 character the rules are 32 point buy with +1 LA being the limit on races and the like. So I was thinking should I take 3 levels in Fighter (using the racial adjustment) or consider taking 2 levels and then multiclassing into somthing like the Kobold Paragon (from the web enhancement to Races Of The Dragon) so he can use picks and the like? In the end I'd like someone who can do damage but at the same time isn't going to simply die when he gets pushed around. For that fact is it worth undertaking the Draconic Rite Of Passage to get a spell like ability? Stone Fist (+6 to Strength) seems like a good one for a Kobold trying to beef up his strength and damage with a spear |
| bhu12-05-08, 08:04 AM | I had no idea Kobolds were so popular here. I'm doing a few PrC's for them over on GitP if you wanna peek. http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79299 |
| somethingrandom12-08-08, 06:09 PM | i have played in 1 campain (3.0 edition d&d) where the gm gave kobolds a LA of -1 |
| pupspite112-11-08, 10:29 AM | I love my 3.5 Kobold! Githkith is a CG 12 Warlock, 6 Enlightened Spirit who is an item-making machine. His warlock powers come from an ancient contract that is still held by Asmodeus. He loves shoving his diabolical power in a devil's face as he does good in the word. He's taken these item creation feats- Scribe Scroll: Our table rule is that you can copy a scroll w/ Scribe Scroll. It saves money and makes restocking very easy. Craft Wonderous Item & Craft Arms & Armor: It's nice to undercut the horrific price gouging of "magic shops" and still gouge my party members. I charged them so much for the Medium Fort enchantements, it made me laff =) Craft Construct: Probally my favorate feat. I've made 2 Expedicious Messengers. One in the shape of a blue dragon, and one in the shape of a red. They are a good sourse fo comic relief. I've made a Gargoyle (Effigy construct of a gargoyle) that wields a lance and does flyby attacks. Very handy for keeping things down. I am in the process of making a Moving Tower- with many improvements =) http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/cw/20070423a It wil be covered w/ the large chest scales from red and blue dragons (for that littel extra DR). I am going to make at least 2 more Gargoyles so they can be perched on top. I have an idea for it deploy Blast Discs (land mines) as a defensive measure, and some sort of delayed-blast fireball/chain lightning guns. My ultimate goal is to make an interplanar spelljammer ship, and the tower will fit in nicely as a a mobile expedition/defense vehicle. Craft Contigency: Or as Githkith knows it "How to turn a person into magic item". The possibilities for this feat are so vast, I can't give proper words. Simply put, triggering a contigency is not an action at all; and there are so many spells someone might want at any time. |
