KOLOKO

Background:
The Koloko are known as the “Assassins of the Deep” and they fully live up to that title. The most widely accepted belief is that the Koloko were several tribes of Gnomes that were captured and enslaved by the Formians. A combination of Formian experiments and natural adaptation resulted in the Koloko. The Koloko’s skill in stealth was as they say a result of their planning of an exodus from the caves of the Formians.

Personality:
Koloko are not very social people. However their suspicion fosters intense family and friendship bonds with their allies, whom they usually trust unconditionally.

Physical Description:
Koloko Females stand about 2 ˝ feet tall with males standing several inches taller with none standing taller than 3 feet. Koloko look like Bipedal ants the size of tall Gnomes. Their exoskeleton ranges from Burgundy to Black and every shade in between. Some Koloko are even multi-colored, even patterned. Though this is very rare. Koloko have three fingered hands that look like ant feet. Despite their appearance these hands are just as dexterous as five-fingered hands. Koloko are considered adults at 30 years and live to about 200 years. Koloko can rotate their heads like owls and are fond of disturbing their enemies with this feature.
Racial Traits

• +2 Dexterity +2 Constitution -2 Strength Koloko are dexterous and their exoskeleton grants them sturdiness but their small stature makes them weak.
• + 2 Natural Armor the Koloko’s exoskeleton is quite tough.
• Base speed 30ft, climb speed 20 ft, burrow speed 10 feet. Koloko’s hands allow them to climb easily and their subterranean nature fosters digging skill
• +5 on Hide checks, +5 on Move silently and +8 on Climb checks.
• Small Size
• LA +2
• Favored Class Rogue

Well What do you think... I acid tested it and came up with LA+2 please give feedback

I'd round Move Silently and Hide either down to +4 or up to +6. Other than that stats look good. Their physical description is certainly creative (yay for not just being humans with a few minor changes!), but I'm curious as to why you didn't incorporate them into the stats. A head that can move all the way around would allow 360 degree Spot checks, for example.

What about their culture? Deities? Favored languages? Relations with other races? Or did you want suggestions for those?

I didn't include all around vision or anything because they can't look in all directions at once. I didn't do anything with the spot check thing because it was my understanding that a line of sight extended in all directions. (it doesnt take much effort to look behind you) About the lack of culture and languages and what-not. I did this in about an hour... this is just the first draft

Aren't the Formians the Ant People of the Underdark?

I kid. I kid. It looks nifty, though three movement speeds is a bit much. maybe cut it down to two?

I'm suddenly reminded of the Ant-Headed bad guys from DinoRiders...

The race looks good!

I added a Burrow Speed Because I was going on the idea of great hive cities and I thought it would be stupid for them to have to mine out 1000 foot long tunnels and take like 3 years to finish one room.

How can they have makeup as a favorite class?

I'd say with Str -2, Dex +2, Con +2 ... and the move speeds, that all-in-all they're a firm LA +1.

What are you talking about? Is there even a Class called Makeup? Mascara Strike would be a class feature i'm guessing... it would clump their eyelashes so much that they would be blinded :rofl:

Koloko is quite a cool-sounding name. Did you get the name from a real-world source, or did you just come with it from the depths of your cerebral cortex?
Overall, the Koloko are very cool-looking speices. Although they are insectoid, what type are they considered to be?

Favorite Class: Rouge

Rouge = makeup
Rogue = a thief-like character.

Although I now want to make a rouge core class.

Although they are insectoid, what type are they considered to be?I would personally suggest Monstrous Humanoid, or possibly Abberation.
