OK, I am running a new campaign. One rule is that they HAVE to be LA+1 (tiny nerf to spellcasters and brings in races no one ever plays). It is set in a Mulorandi oe Egyptian setting.

The are playing Draconic, Catfolk and Necropolitain so far.

Any other suggestions? Source too, please.

They say there are lots of aasimar and tieflings in Mulhorond, probably a lot of genasi, too. Has to do with them being so intimate with their pantheon. I'd imagine animal secondary traits would be typical in the aasimar/tieflings especially (bull horns, feathers instead of hair and hawk-like eyes, lizard skin, etc.).

Yes, I forgot Aasimar and Tieflings. No Teiflings yet, one Aasimar. Thanks.

If you have the books Sandstorm and Tome of Magic, why not take the asherati (LA 0 humanoids that can swim through sand like water), and add the "dark" template (+1 LA). Then make them a race of mysterious nomads that live in the deepest wastes, only surfacing in the dead of night...possibly to raid caravans, possibly to aid travelers.
