AMGriffin 07-30-07, 12:35 PM	Seems more elf-like then human. Either way, it's not quite worthy of LA+1.
Omega_Grey 07-30-07, 12:45 PM	I agree with AMGriffin, its not quite +1, depending on the image you have in mind you may want to raise some of those bonuses, or get rid of the penalties to make it more balanced.
Kadasbrass 07-30-07, 01:03 PM	I disagree, that it is clearly LA 1 as is, but there is room for little extra. I wouldn't increase any of the ability mods to +4, but there room to drop a penalty or to add some unique ability. So far you got something that looks like a hash between elf and human. You could move away from this image by giving it something unique neither race has. Thou since its human subrace, could give it Able Learner as a racial trait to play on human ability to learn stuff faster then other races.
nighttree 07-30-07, 01:06 PM	The race in question is a "Mentat" type race of humans. Intelligence, reaction time, and Perception are supposed to be superior to "normal" humans. So most of what's there needs to be :D I certainly don't mind ADDING a few more things (adding the +2 to sense motive as well would be nice) or dropping the Con penalty, but I really would not want them to go above a +1 LA.
Omega_Grey 07-30-07, 01:31 PM	Drop the con penalty and give the a +2 racial bonus on initiative, or a Improved Initiative bonus feat. That should put it into a solid +1 category and let it keep the feel you are going for. Of course it is your race. Also, is there going to be one that is on a continual diet of intelligence enhancers to boost its intellect so that the crazy super scientist that made it can have some one on equal footing to talk to?

So what kind of LA would you assign :D Let's see: Medium 30 ft +0 points +Dex -Con :+0 point +2 Int -2 Cha : +0 point +2 Wis : +1.5 point +6 on skill checks & Automatic elf-like search: +1.5 point +2 on knowledge checks: +1 point So this is at least a 4 points creature (1 point=1 good feat) , I would say it is a +1 LA race.Bonuses alone seem not the big deal but when you put it all together: - Bonuses helpful to archers, wizards and clerics among many others - Bonus to will and reflex saving throws. - double bonus to all knowledges,Listen,search and spot. - Automatic door search Now the La+0 of human seems too little for him.I wouldn't ad too much to this race, in fact I would go: * +2 Dex +2 Int, +2 Wis, -2 Cha. * Medium humanoid '30 feet base land speed * +2 to two skills. * +2 on all Knowledge checks. And now there is room for one or two solid features.

ROFLMAO.....no juice stains ;) I think the hardest part about this has been not having it go "to far" into a "sci-fi" realm, I'm trying to keep it within the "fantasy feel". Now I have to go look up the old "Gnome Techsmith" class, as it was suggested that it met the feel of their "Technomancers", and see what I can "pirate from there......:eek: THANKS guys
