Hello, since a Lich does not need to sleep, nor does any "rest" helps him in any way... does it need to rest 8 hours before preparing spells?

One of the largest problem with the game, interal inconsistency. I'd rule they dont need to.

Why? Its right there in the rules.
Rest
To prepare her daily spells, a wizard must first sleep for 8 hours. The wizard does not have to slumber for every minute of the time, but she must refrain from movement, combat, spellcasting, skill use, conversation, or any other fairly demanding physical or mental task during the rest period. If her rest is interrupted, each interruption adds 1 hour to the total amount of time she has to rest in order to clear her mind, and she must have at least 1 hour of uninterrupted rest immediately prior to preparing her spells. If the character does not need to sleep for some reason, she still must have 8 hours of restful calm before preparing any spells.

there is a whole difference between a character who doesn't need to sleep, but which time has an actual effect (like an outsider. He still heal over time) and an undead, on who's time is.. has no actual grasp.

A lich is in not better shape after 5 years of rest than when he actually sat down.

Right in the rules or not, I dont like rules tacked on for balance, make a system that works logically without needing such rules in the first place.

What's not logical about it?

If it has a mind, that mind still needs to be cleared before it can study and memorize spells. Intelligent undead work the same way.

If you can't think of fluff to fit the crunch, you're simply not trying hard enough.

Actually, an undead with an Intelligence score also heals his number of hit dice in hp with every night of sleep, just like a living, breathug character.

Cannot heal damage on its own if it has no Intelligence score, although it can be healed. Negative energy (such as an inflict spell) can heal undead creatures. The fast healing special quality works regardless of the creature’s Intelligence score.
