| Meep22211-24-07, 01:27 AM | Technically... yes? It makes sense that you'd be able to, what with free will and all... But I'd also say that Lolth also has a greater connection to you that to her normal follower, and could revoke the abilities you gained from the template could be revoked. |
| rampant11-24-07, 01:54 AM | On the other hand the abilities granted by the template are for the most part not very Lolth specific, they could be associated with many dieties, or even ritualistic transformations. |
| Meep22211-24-07, 02:02 AM | True, the abilities aren't Lolth specific, but the name implies that you are intricatly connected with the Spider Queen herself. |
| Nat_2011-24-07, 06:03 AM | haha, me and some other posters made a list of god-touched templates, going from kord to gruumish. i could post it if everyone would like |
| Shadowhowler11-24-07, 11:41 AM | Could a lolth-touched character change his alignment after the template was applied? Yes, I suspect one could, if one was looking for a cheesy loophole with which to get one of the nastiest templates out there and bypass the alignment issue. |

| Nat_2011-24-07, 10:47 PM | That would be awesome, but I would suggest you do it in its own thread. prolly a better idea... But, i had a conversation yesterday with one of my players about this. It pretty much boiled down to this. Lolth-touched is a REALLY good template, and any DM that allowed it without a story line plot or a quest to get it is just asking for players to abuse it. Also he thinks that allowing it for a non-drow player race is dumb, he says that it was designed for drow to make up for the weakness of the race and the fact that its a +2 lvl adj race and adding those stats make up for it. I said thats dumb because comparatively any base race would be up on the drow player 3 character levels and be way better than the drow. I say its good for NPC or story quest. And to answer you question i say no, its the spider queens blessing. If you go against the spider queen, she would take it away. that is her nature. and if you were a cleric of Lolth and went good you wouldn't receive your spells. you know what i mean? The list i compiled of other "God-Touched" templates are only usable if my players embark on a quest to receive them. And can be taken away if they go against the gods ways. But if your the DM you would have to make the final call. But one question. Can a Vampire change their alignment as well? If so, then I say its legal to allow an alignment switch, but I'd never allow it personally. Any questions? |
