Looking for a race with INT bonus [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-30-07, 03:22 PM Does anyone know of a race that has a bouns to INT, no penalty to CON and no higher than a +1 lvl adjustment?

Try the tiefling (planetouched), or the deep imaskari (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20031003b) mentioned above.

My bad. I missed where it said "in addition to the high elf traits" The good news is that now you don't have to play a weenie elf. :D

05-30-07, 06:41 PM Don't forget the Sharakim of races of destiny. They are orcs but have the human subtype instead of orc. I think their bonuses are str+2, int+2, Dex-2, Cha-2 with a natural armor bonus. Hooray for orc wizards!!!

05-31-07, 09:23 AM The Fire and Air Genasi may also be good choices.

Fire Genasi gets +2 Int and I believe -2 to Cha plus some other abilities at a +1 level adjustment.
The Air Genasi gets +2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 Wis and -2 Charisma plus some other stuff as well, again with a +1 level adjustment.

Both are also outsiders wich is a big plus, especially if you're planning on a spellcaster *wich is likely if youre looking for an INT bonus*

Wouldn't a dragontouched grey elf get +2 INT -2 STR without Con or Dex modifiers?

Lesser tiefling is worth looking at. Tiefling bonuses to Int and Dex, but no LA. (In exchange, you're a humanoid, not an outsider.)
