I'm attempting to create a character for an upcoming game who is based off a story attempt I made once. Problem is that his race, which is homebrew (as are most in his world), doesn't really have anything similar in the books I've looked at. The basic description is that he's a tall human covered in black fur. The average member of his race stands close to six feet, and all have black fur, usually with some brown or white patches, and dark hair. They're primarily human-like creatures, since that's the only major change - they don't have tails or hunched postures or feline/canine natures. If anyone can offer me a suggestion and a source, I'd highly appreciate it. I've had a look at Catfolk and Gnolls before, and they didn't quite match what I was after. I'm not really after homebrew races either... just something official. Thanks very much in advance. :D

Neutronium_Dragon 06-21-07, 01:28 AM	If it's just a human with fur, there are real-world humans like that; they're hair-covered as thickly and thoroughly as an ape. it's a pretty rare genetic quirk, but it's probably what contributed to a lot of the old "werewolf" legends.
bobothechimp 06-21-07, 01:38 AM	Depending on how thick you mean, you could take away either a bonus feat or bonus skill points in order to add a point or two of natural armor and the equivalent effect of a cold weather outfit.

My Splat Book collection is far from complete but I don't think you are going to find any official sources that cover what you are looking for. You either need to pick an existing race, change the name and bless it with fur or go total home brew.

Agreed. What you want can be reproduced with a bit of additional flavor.
