make a suggestion on race selection [Archive] - Wizards Community

i want to play a class that requires high Dex and Cha score

can anybody think of any templates OR races that give Dex AND Cha bonuses, but have an LA up to +2 (i guess +3 is ok too) ???

Hmmm...
Well, as far as races, plain or powerful, there's always the Elves, Halflings and Gnomes. There's the Tibbits and Catfolk(Draconomicon and Dragon Compendium), Pixies, Nixies, and any of the small races or mediums that utilize DEX and CHA. Templates: one comes to mind---winged (+4 DEX, +2 WIS).

03-29-07, 04:17 PM Drow +2 Cha, Dex, Int , -2 Con LA +2 (although if your dm wants to keep the +2 he should give a few more bonuses as the LA is more a +1.5 for the benefits you get)

they have +2 dex and Char but - 2 con

03-29-07, 06:29 PM Celadine seem to be really nice! However i live in Greece, so i have no access to the Dragon Magazine. I guess I 'll have to drop this one :weep:

I 've played drow char's quite a lot of times, so I 'd like to try sth different now. (apart from that there is no chance that my DM will add any extra bonuses although he will keep the +2 LA)

Finally I need a medium race 'cause the class I'm playing relies on speed

Man i looked for the Tibbits in Draconomicon but couldn't find this race. Is it in the Monsters section???

is it true that they get exactly the same bonuses (and spell-like abilities, etc.) as Aasimars, but instead of being native outsiders they are humanoids (or augmented humanoids??) and have LA: +0???

I was thinking of playing a Lesser Aasimar with the Half-Fay template from FF :D

03-29-07, 07:40 PM yup the lesser aasarmar are the same but they are humenoid that sounds like a pretty good idea. may I ask what class your going for?

my friends and i decided to play a couple of sessions with high level char's (lvl 10 or 15) before starting to play official lvl 1 char's

03-29-07, 08:07 PM Catfolk is a good bet. LA +1 if I remember right. Races of the Wild. Hope you have access to it.

Tibbits are a small race in the Dragon Compendium and Catfolk are in Races of the Wild. The Winged template is in Savage Species.
