I believe the Saytr is the male counterpart to the Nymph. Sorry.

that is indeed in greek mythology but does the same occurs in dnd?

It says it no where that I can find. However Nymphs are described explicitly as a female, and saytr's explicitly as a male. So it is implied. Mind you, it seems reasonable that a DM may allow a male nymph. Best of luck.

More so than humans, nymphs in greek myths were willing to mate with anyone they liked. So, why not be a "half-nymph", but keep your races as nymph?

Because a male "half-nymph" wouldn't be "half-nymph" because then he'd be a she.

Nymphs are female. They have no male offspring that are nymphs. Unless he's half-female.

So, either a nymph has a male child of the race of the father with possibly the half-fey template, or has a female child that is half-nymph or (more likely) all nymph.

In my campaign, nymphs can't breed with humans. They breed with satyr. Males are satyr, females are nymphs. They also lose all their "natural" special abilities (that are better represented by levels in bard, beguiler, or druid anyway). Problem solved.

So, either a nymph has a male child of the race of the father with possibly the half-fey template, or has a female child that is half-nymph or (more likely) all nymph. Blah.

Nymphs arn't even statted out to be used as PCs. Not that male Nymph makes any sense, mind you.

:P?? Not to be snarky, but what's your point?

You added "Wrong. Some king's wives were nymphs and they had sons." Well, yes, this doesn't contradict or show my statement to be wrong in any way.

The sons weren't nymphs, were they? The wives were female weren't they?

I said they had no male offspring that are nymphs, not they can't have male offspring. So, no, I am not wrong. Nymphs aren't male. They don't give birth to male nymphs even if impregnated by a human male. They give birth to male humans (possibly special humans with a half-fey template) and female nymphs or female humans with special powers of enchantment (again half-fey works, possibly a half-nymph).

I'm not sure why you added "Blah." to my third paragraph. Did you disagree with the rules suggestion or did you just want to put the word 'blah' into my mouth? Half-fey is a template for situations exactly like this.

And yes, "in my campaign" does mean "mine, not everyone's". That's exactly why I prefaced it with "in my campaign" to show that it isn't exactly RAW or Core or whatever it is that people worry about when they ask for things like male nymphs. Why else would I put "In My Campaign" if not to show that I realize it is not for everyone?

That's basically what incubi are.

Anyways, there are a couple of good guides out there to help male players play female characters and help female players play male characters. You might want to check some of those out sometime.

first off there are no male nymphs did not have ANY mle children, with the exeptionof the saytr. and the inccubus is the male form of a succubus, watch Tv once in a while, and it sed there wifes were BELEVED to be nymphs, they never actuely turned out to actuely be nymphs, simpel, greek mythology realy people!

In Greek mythology only. In D&D a Nymph can mate with any species and produce a half-fey, and likewise with the Satyr.

and the inccubus is the male form of a succubus, watch Tv once in a while,

Just because we know Greek mythology doesn't mean Lappy9000 knows Greek mythology, and you don't need to watch any TV to know about incubi.

and it sed there wifes were BELEVED to be nymphs, they never actuely turned out to actuely be nymphs,

We are perfectly aware that the supposed imaginary creatures were not actually such.

simpel, greek mythology realy people!

Once again: Greek mythology =/= D&D fluff.

@OP: Male nymphs technically don't exist, so if you want to be one you need to either (A) play a satyr; (B) play a nymph-ish half-fey; or (C) work with your DM for a homebrew version.

Well, I remember a male only fey that lived in rivers. Cannot remember the name or book that it is in though.

6 HD and 7 LA according to the SRD--not quite epic, and justifiable if you really want to play one, I suppose.

Also there is a fey bloodline in UA, not sure if it's any good though.

I disagree. It's not justifiable to ever play a +7 LA, there isn't an ability or stat in the world worth that much of an LA.

Astral Projection and Meteor Swarm at will, +6 in every ability score and tremorsense?

I said "if you really want to play one, I suppose"--I certainly would never touch it with a 10ft pole, and I doubt you would, but some don't mind if they can play exactly the race they want. I supposed I should have specified "justified" in an RP sense and not at all in an optimization sense. Better?

Simply change "blinding Beauty" for the following feature:

Unbelievable Manliness
The male nymph's manliness is simply too strong for anyone of ordinary mind to contemplate without feeling inadequate, and so he must play down just how manly he is in order to keep those around him safe. Any creature that looks upon a male nymph must make a will save (DC10+Cha+1/2Racial HD) or develop an inferiority complex. This complex can be removed by any spell that removes negative levels. Male nymphs can choose to suppress this ability.

:D

Note: this is entirely sarcastic... though I might actually allow this ability in a humorous campaign.

Believe the Verdant Princes from MM4 are the closest can get to male version nymphs. Think it states in book their breedable.

The closest thing you a male nymph is...a male nymph.

Seriously, there's no reason why you can't just ignore that line from the Monster Manual and decide that nymphs come in both varieties. It worked for Aidyn Chronicles.

Ooh, bad example. But you get the point.

What the OP could also do to make a male nymph work is to play a nymph that had some genderbending magic used on her. That would prolly get you a male nymph. Only problem is that the nymph would still act very much female, at least for a short time after the change, but could have started to act masculine overtime. This would also instantly give the character a goal: namely to find a way to change back. Once the OP feels like he's ready to play a female character he could tell the DM that and the DM could then have the nymph find a way to change back. This would also certainly make for a few great roleplaying scenes.

Isn't Orlando Bloom a male nymph? Might explain why he hasn't been in any movies lately. :P
