| Ceresi_the_Blademaster02-19-07, 07:02 PM | I myself am a big fan of the X-Men comics and games and am a big fan of the Morlock leader Marrow. I decided to create a race after this mutant with the ability to use objects created from ones one bones as projectiles or melee weapons. Marroven: Personality: Marroven are hate filled hot shots. They believe battle powress is the most important thing to achieve in life. The more enimies defeated the greater the pride and title. Concepts of compassion, charity, and mercy are as alien to them as the concept of a "short" human to a halfling. Physical Description: Marroven are large built mostly human looking. Mostly being the key word there. Though they look human facially and in bodily shape they are much different in the fact that large bony spikes jut from their bodies in various places, such as the back and arms. Marroven are a pale race due to their lack of sunlight in their subterean homes. Their hair is warm shades of reds and blonds. Relations: For the most part Marroven hate other races. Though those races who are as strong or stronger than them they get along with more due to a warriors respect. Alignment: Chaotic Nuetral. Marroven go where they please and do what they please, though not evil they are full of themselves and disregard authority. Homelands: Marroven keep no home for long as they are quick to anger their neighbors with their usual lack of respect, they are nomads of the underworld, moving from place to place in the deep caves and tunnels below the earth. Religion: Most worship Marr, Goddess of Power, the queen of all Marroven kind and its source name. Those who come to the surface and join civilization often worship gods such as Kord or Erythnul, or any other god of strength or the like. Clerics of Marr have acces to the Strength, Chaos, and War, and she is a Chaotic Neutral goddess. Language: Marr have no language of thier own, they adopted the Undercommon language to suit purposes of communication. Many also learn common, orc, and giant aswell as languages of thier subterean neighbors. Names: They are given titles by thier parents depending the way they act and fight, nicknames pretty much with no real name to cover. Backstab, Two-Stroke, Blackheart, Bonesplit Adventurers: Most Marroven become Barbarians or Fighters, or other melee oriented combat classes. Though the most well known Marroven, Irel Pullstrike, was a ranger under the service of Karid, King of Surll. (This being a rare case of CG Marroven activity). Marroven Racial Traits: +2 Str, +2 Con, -2 Wis, -2 Cha, Though physically powerful a Marroven is recklass and greatly lacks people skills. Medium: As a medium creature Marroven recieve no bonus or penalty due to size. Base Speed: 30ft Spines: The most well known factor of the Marroven are their Spines that jut from their bodies. These spines can be removed at the Marroven's will to be used as weapons. A spine can become a type of spear that can be thrown for 20 feet and deals 1d4+str damage. x2 crit applies. If critical hit is scored the spear lodges itself into the opponent dealing an extra 1d4 when romoved as it tears at the skin. A spine can also become a thrusting/slashing weapon that deals 1d4+str with a critical of 19-20x2. Lastly the smallest spines that grow from their arms and necks can be shot from a type of blowgun dealing 1 damage and can have poison applied to them. +4 on Climb, a Marroven can produce a spike in its palm that allows fro superior grip. Natural Armor: +2 Fast Healing: 1 LA: +2 I'm not sure of what to put for the Level Adjustment, if someone wants to help me out that would be great thanks. Heres the first ideas. |
| JarionSilverblades03-05-07, 09:22 PM | I like the race, I always thought Marrow was a great character, even though they really never gave her much of a chance to stand out, she always took a backseat to Wolverine. Back to the race, the fact they have a limitless supply of weapons makes me think this should be a LA +1 minimum, maybe +2. |
| Ceresi_the_Blademaster03-11-07, 05:43 PM | I think i need to adjust the damage to single dice in allt he cases. i realize 2d4+ is way to much for this. thats like a sythe or a lucrene hammer. |
