Hey guys I want to try something with a new character and I need help with how to make it. I want to be an intellegent weapon, if anybody has any ideas I'm open to sugestions and need help with rules and books.

If you're an intelligent weapon, all you can do is talk. Everything else is up to the wielder.

Play a psion trapped in the form of a weapon. That way you can still contribute to the party in ways other than speaking to your weilder.

Unless your DM made a house rule about the Dancing (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicWeapons.htm#dancing) magic bonus, I don't think it would be much fun.

You could always just use TK Force on yourself.

why couldn't I dominate the weilder with an overpowering will

You could, but how different would that be from simply playing the weilder (or if you focus on the "dominate whomever is beneficial at the time" schtick, how different from a magic jar body hoping mage)?

There are two problems with that approach. The first is that the type of person you can do that to with ease (level 1 commoners) tends to be very fragile. The second is that there is always the chance of a natural 20 on their part, or that more durable hosts are more likely to make their save.

Eberron has rules for demons posessing items.

That wouldn't be good for team cohesion. I would assume that your wielder would be one of your party members. Only speaking for myself here, but if the party's magic item tried to dominate me, it's getting melted down for scrap.

well no a member of my pardy wouldent be the weilde it would be a commoner and I would be a weapon of legacy so that I could still gain levels in a way (the fragial commoner thing is ok, the game is a neutral, neutral evil campaine so it might be fun to imprison commoners till they die then move on to the next. Weapons of Legacy need the wielder to go through different tests and rituals to unlock the items powers. Through this they also sacrifice from certain stats (BAB, saves, skill points, ect.).

So you'd be +1, the commoner dies trying to go through the first trail and you're +1 again.

I like the idea but the mechanics would be really tough. Just modifiy it so its the weapon, or rather YOU who goes through the ritual, not the commoner. Have it that your not just an intellegent item, but a person or someones mind trapped inside. Permanent Dominate or Suggestion should be the way to go. Maybe make it a fighter instead of a commoner. I would go as far as to custom make a class for the weapon, and the commoner just uses all the BAB, saves, Skill from the class. So you as a weapon grow, but if the commoner or whatever dies, the next person to weild you gets all your levels, or something like that. Of course make a rule that the NPC your dominating has to be a level 1 or lower NPC but still, aside from that. Good luck witht he idea.

Either have another character carry you, or have your own porter. As a psion, you don't need a body, only a mind. Depending on your starting level, you could ride in a wagon (or be the wagon). This idea could range from a mule with a pack saddle to a golden chariot drawn by a half-dozen horses to a golem or other construct.

well i have given it some thought and why not make it a "race".

Size : medium
speed : fly 30 - average (creature has no ground speed)
Skills : +4 on tumble checks
Skills : +2 on escape artist checks
Natural attack : Depending on the weapon you choose to be.

Just on the fly what i think would fit. Perhapse making it a construct would add to its overal status.

just my 2 eurocents

Well since you are a weapon, you presumably want to attack.
Being Everdancing (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/magicItems/weapons.htm#everdancing) would help, just ignore the cost and hassle and just say that you get that ability for free (you are a weapon, you deserve some advantages). Being a psion is a good idea, or you could possess a fighter that goes into some custom PrC like "thrall to weapon" that gives you abilities and stuff. You could even make it a base class if you wanted. Also, being adamantine so you don't get sundered might be a good idea.

There was an Intelligent Item racial class in The Complete Book of Eldritch Might by Malhavoc Press, Monte Cook's company. It was pretty comprehensive, and allowed for you to have a number of ways to get around.

Personally, I liked Charming a foe into weilding me, or Summoning a monster to do it. Animating an undead weilder or something works sometimes, as well, but dancing remains the best.

This is a pretty good book, worth picking up if only for that.
