| Sir_Chivalry09-07-07, 08:30 PM | What would an orc/elf hybrid be like personality wise? |
| Captain_Kobold09-07-07, 08:58 PM | Most of the personalities of the PC races seem to be set more by culture than by race. I would say in this case it would depend a lot upon how he was treated as he grew up, and how he chose to respond to this treatment. What sort of personality and concept do you want to play him as? |
| Easalyamusedoldman09-07-07, 09:03 PM | ****** off about loveing nature? |
| Sir_Chivalry09-07-07, 10:11 PM | I was planning on playing a two-weapon fighting orc/elf fighter |
| JulesCARV09-07-07, 10:40 PM | Since orcs and elves don't really mix "normally" like elves and humans or orcs and humans, I'd say that a half-elf/half-orc is likely to be rather sickly. Elf/orcs are probably sterile, and also have a bunch of other health problems (say... umm... problems absorbing calcium? Heart valve defects? Just make up random health problems.). I picture this person as being very patient. He puts up with a lot of pain, weakness, and visits to adept. Might find solace in religion (Corellon? Gruumsh? Neither? Both?), and/or might develop a subtle, hidden bitterness and resentment toward his parents for being responsible for his existence in this state. (If only one parent is responsible -- say, his orc dad raped his elf mom, and there's no way the mom could have prevented the pregnancy -- then he might blame the responsible parent exclusivley.). |
| Sir_Chivalry09-07-07, 11:30 PM | Hmm, sounds quite good. Does anyone know of any good orc/elf stats out there? |
| Captain_Kobold09-08-07, 08:16 AM | I was planning on playing a two-weapon fighting orc/elf fighter Doesn't tell us a whole lot about his personality. In hybrids like this, one side is usually more dominant. It is possible that he looks 'mostly' like an orc, with just a few disguisable elven features, or vice versa. He might have had a relatively normal life for the race he grew up with, but had to deal with alien urges the other side of his parentage gave him. Or he could have been outcast from both communities and had to wander. He might have found a place with a more accepting race such as humans or halflings, and picked up some of their personality traits. Hmm, sounds quite good. Does anyone know of any good orc/elf stats out there? Easiest way would proably be to use a standard half-orc or half-elf race depending upon which side is dominant. When you assign stats you can reflect the other parent's heritage as well. |
| Skritz_the_Lizardmen09-08-07, 09:24 AM | He would feel even more tormented than an half-orc. But, his orkish savagery would be tempred by his elven blood. He would probably be smarter then orc and much more agile. His lifespan would be bigger then orc. In all case, he's superior to any other orc. |
