bitemytail 07-17-07, 08:11 PM	Are there nay good resources to get the full description for making orcs/goblins/kobolds etc into PC races? The MM has some information, but details such as lifespan are missing.
lord_xarallon 07-17-07, 08:19 PM	Lifespan does not have much in-game effect. What do you need? Maybe someone could direct you to it or make something reasonable up. Kobolds lifespan, along with everthing else, are in Races of the Dragon. I do believe info about orcs can be found in MM4, but I'm nor sure.

Lazigothi 07-18-07, 12:39 PM	You can also just pick a lifespan range. You can make them all share similar spans that humans do, or you can select one or more and make them either rediculously long or short at your whim and have a cool ecological myth woven around it. True, an Orc lifespan doesn't come up often, but perhaps because their high mortality rate would make an encounter with an Orc Elder particularly significant. Example, in the Icewind Dale II CD-rom game, at the entrance inside the Orc Fort, an old, blind Orc pops out of nowhere and is a powerhouse and will kill off your party if you haven't properly buffed your party. Another neat thing to include about long, ancient, or essentially immortal lifespans is that Dragon included an article detailing feats for concepts that span several centuries. It's another touch of flavor when encountering an ancient Orc or Kobold if they happen to have additional, surprising features to them.
