| AZNsupermarket06-13-07, 12:39 PM | I'm looking at the Muckdweller stats from Serpent Kingdoms (page 71), but I'm confused by how many monstrous HD a player who wants to play one would get. None? 1-4? Don't you need LA before you have HD? -Thanks in advance |
| Morwen06-13-07, 03:05 PM | None. A Muckdweller PC would swap his one (actually, only a quarter HD, but still) racial hit die for his first class level (as for all races with 1 or fewer racial hit die; races with 2 or more get no such swapping). |
| AZNsupermarket06-14-07, 09:30 AM | In that case, what does the part about HD advancement mean? Advancement: 1-2 HD (Tiny); 3 HD (Small) If they take 3 class levels, do they become small? |
| AZNsupermarket06-14-07, 09:32 AM | One more question: What are Muckdweller's favored class? |
| Morwen06-14-07, 07:19 PM | In that case, what does the part about HD advancement mean? If they take 3 class levels, do they become small? It means that if a DM chooses to create a version of a Muckdweller that has grown beyond what an ordinary Muckdweller does, then advancing it to 1 or 2 HD would keep it at Tiny, while advancing it to 3 HD would increase its size to Small. Since there is no information for 4 or more HD, it can't be advanced beyond 3 HD through this method. The advancement line has no influence on class levels. |

| AZNsupermarket06-14-07, 10:56 PM | So... How do you determine a Muckdweller's favored class? |
| Potato_Dragon06-15-07, 12:10 AM | If it's not listed, then it doesn't have one. Since it normally "advances" by hit dice, it doesn't normally have class levels at all. If you want to give it class levels, just consider its favored class to be whatever their first class is like humans and half-elves. (I.e. if it advances as a rogue and later takes fighter levels, then its favored class is rogue.) |
| runestar06-15-07, 12:24 AM | Since there is no information for 4 or more HD, it can't be advanced beyond 3 HD through this method. Actually, it can. The MM does state that the HD advancement line is not a hard limit, but simply a rough guideline. It is theoretically not impossible to find a muckdweller to well exceed this limit, and that has been advanced to say, 100HD, just that it would be extremely rare.:) |
