Multi-Limbed Template [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-02-07, 03:36 AM I have been thinking for a while that it would be cool to have a template that gives additional limbs to races that normally just look like regular humanoids.

I have of course heard of such a thing already existing but can't seem to find it anywhere, so i guess i propose the following (unless someone can help me find the ones that already exist:

Multi-Limbed (Template) +2 LA
+6 Dexterity, gain two additional arms

Think this is fair for +2 LA?

10-02-07, 03:54 AM Check the DMG II, under unique NPC abilities. Also, there is the insectile template from Savage Species I believe. :)

10-02-07, 04:30 AM I understand the multi-weapon fighting or multi-attack for free part, and i understand the extra limbs part, but don't you think +2 LA is a little harsh for simply having 2 extra arms? That's why i put the Dexterity bonus in mine.

I mean, +4 Dex might make it a little better, but the one in the DMG seems kinda... well, underpowered...

10-02-07, 06:07 AM I don't know. Since a fighter, with the two weapon feat doesn't get three attacks till 6th level, I don't see it as being too unreasonable, but maybe a +2 to Dex as well, as an unbalanced ability bonus.
