Prak, the Mad 04-20-07, 03:31 PM	I want to play a necromental using the monster races for elementals and the necromental template from libris mortis, but the template makes their intelligence 1, and I need someway to add at least 2 intelligence to an undead. anyone know of anything?

Prak, the Mad 04-20-07, 05:23 PM	problem is, I do't want to just play an undead, I want to play a necromental, an Undead Elemental. the template changes the base creature's Int to 1, and because it has an int score at all, awaken undead won't work on it. anything else?
Part-Human2 04-20-07, 05:47 PM	Like a magic item that grants an Enhancement bonus to Intelligence? Or leveling and adding to Int, or Wishes? If you simply want a template, Phrenic Creatures (SRD, EPH) get +2 INT for +2 LA (among a slew of other benefits).
Part-Human2 04-20-07, 05:51 PM	Oh, the necromental template has a 'Level Adjustment --" so you'll have to check with your DM what it might be (Create Spawn, Energy Drain and Fast Healing are great benefits...+4 LA?).
Dead_Weasel 04-20-07, 06:06 PM	Unfortunately, the Phrenic template only increases Intelligence if you already have at least 3 Intelligence. I can't see a way for a non-mindless Undead creature to improve its Intelligence score, at least not from the Book of Templates; sorry. You'll have to houserule something, or choose another direction - unless you'd be willing to play the 1 Intelligence.

Get your DM's approval? Seriously. Discuss your concept with your DM (which you should be doing anyway) and ask if you can simply note your necromental's INT as 3 (the minimum for a player character).

Of course, it's a high LA, and RAW says it can only be applied to living animals and humanoids, but hey - it's a template that increases Int. Can't find my Manual of the Planes - anyone know if the Half-Elemental templates changes your type to elementals or outsiders? I can't remember if it does, and to which one.... If it changes you to an elemental, then there's your fix. Half elemental, necromental, unholy scion. Sure, it's template heavy, but if that's a concept build then more power to ya (quite literally at that, I might add)! :D EDIT ---------> Necromental is in Libris Mortis. OK where in lobris? i knew that it was in there but cant find it. #2 if you use the eleti and holy scion can be used with it cant it ? its humanoid. sry if i seem pushy it just tired lol i think the half elemental is in the book with the 4 elemental races I'm looking for it but i don't see what book those 4 races are in ill keep looking or fall asleep one of the two :) :(
