| YamiShinobi12-11-07, 03:45 PM | I transferred the nekogami to a new thread NEKOGAMI RACIAL TRAITS: • +2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence, -2 Strength, -2 Constitution: Nekogami are smart and agile but physically weak and frail. • Fey: Nekogami are Fey that resemble humans, almost always resembling female human children aged 7-16 (though most appear 12 or 13, a few may appear 7-12 and others rarely 14 or 15) all nekogami are female • Medium: As Medium creatures, nekogami have no special bonuses or penalties due to size. • Nekogami base land speed is 40 feet. • Low Light Vision, Nekogami can see twice as far as humans in torchlight, starlight, moonlight and other poor lighting conditions • Nekogami are ageless, they do not die of old age and are not affected by ageing effects. They do not have a middle age, old age or venerable age, but adulthood for a Nekogami is 10 years • +2 racial bonus on listen, hide, and move silently. • Nekogami tend towards the chaotic neutral and neutral evil aligments, due to a combination of thier curiosity and thier mischivious nature • Automatic Language: Common, Feline. Bonus Languages: Any (other than secret languages, such as Druidic). See the Speak Language skill. • Favored Class: Rogue. A multiclass nekogami ’s rogue class does not count when determining whether she takes an experience point penalty for multiclassing. Fluff Nekogami are the daughters of the cat god and a human mother, it takes them 10 years of incubation, maturing or development (whatever you want to call it) before they stop aging, where thier appearance becomes unnafected. they stand anywhere from 4 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 2 inches weighing between 65-80 lbs, they are pale skinned and often slim and childlike in build. the average nekogami appears to be 12 or 13 in human years. though some appear younger, but rarely younger than 8-9, they are agile, and curious to feline extents. thier common haircolors are brown or black, thier eyecolors are often green, blue, brown or hazel, they are barely of medium size and dress in clothing of dual color schemes, most include black and some other dark color to fit thier night blending, such as forest green, crimson red or cobalt blue. the attire scheme if often, 1 colored peice touching a piece that is the other color in a scheme (if modern, with black and green for exampe, a green shirt with black pants, green shoes, green scarf, and possibly green gloves or something to that appeal) they appear to childishly cute in appearance, they also lack the maturity of an adult. most of them survivied independently. some forming guilds together. there happens to be one known nekogami guild, which spans 50 known nekogami member's, maybe more, returning visitors who have claimed to see this guild claim some multiple of 10 (always over 50) of these lolis are in a guild, though no records have proved it, other's claim these guy's must have been drunk and walked into a school and thought that it was a legendary guild of some sort, some claim that they are excellent spies, other claim that nekogami are skilled assassins, others look down on them as nothing more than rogues. few if even any had a place in history. 67% of these claims involve an oriental palace with tons of cats of every kind and breed, a bunch of young female children, a sentient panther who looks at books, and a strange gender ambiguous cat eared man who they claim is the catgod, 92% of those who listened do not believe these stories, 5% do believe but not act, the few 3% who search for this legendary palace have failed. all nekogami claim to be ordinary humans, making some false story for thier agelessness. (I.E. some elixir from the philosopher's stone, favorite of the gods. genetics, the whole works.) thier adventuring hook is most likely thier curiosity. when breeding, they breed true with humans, elves, fey, dragons, celestials and fiends, all nekogami are female. if male, they are for sure the other race, if female, nekogami when breeding with humans, elves or fey, they are pure nekogami and half dragon/feind/celestial when breeding with the corresponding race. appearance haircolors, blonde, brown, red, black, most nekogami feature darker shades of brown eyecolors, blue, green, hazel, brown, grey, most have blue or hazel skincolor, always as pale or paler than a high elf Random generator appearing age 6+1d10 years (age they appear) height 4 ft 6 + 1d6 inches (height) weight 63 + 2d10 lbs (weight) haircolor roll d6 (haircolor) 1-2 black 3-4 brown 5 red 6 blonde (including dirty blonde) eyecolor d8 (eyecolor) 1-2 blue 3-4 hazel 5-6 green 7 brown 8 gray. skin color flip coin heads pale as elf tails pale enough to illuminate the darkness with her hand i applied suggested changes from the previous threads. please keep your posts small and at least borderline legible. if you give constructive cirticsm like in the last thread, please keep it simple. right now the race is L.A.+0 and i want to keep it that way. Nekogami Paragon Levels PLV 1 +2 Dex, Bonus feat, Spot +2 PLV 2 +2 Cha, Gather information +2 Sneak attack+1d6, (as rogue) PLV 3 +2 Wis, Improved Low Light Vision (can see 4 times as far as human in poor light conditions) Uncanny dodge (as rogue) Tumble+2, Search+2 PLV 4 Feline Grace (Int Modifier to AC as well as to Saving Throws, this only works in light armor or no armor, stacks with monks AC bonus and Paladin's Divine Grace) Sneak attack+2d6 (as rogue) PLV=Paragon Level Please Note that this an optional 4 level paragon class that can be taken, if so it must be taken before any class levels are added. a character must be a nekogami to take this class. if they stop part way and take class levels, they cannot go back to this class, ever, though if the dm allows it, they can if the party level allows for it, they can start with levels in this class. assuming that the DM is allowing an ECL of 5 or higher. class skills of a nekogami paragon and the key abilities are Appraise (int) Craft (int) Diplomacy (int) Listen (wis) Search (int) Spot (wis) move silently (dex) hide (dex) gather information (cha) Profession (wis) perform (cha) escape artist (dex) survival (wis) and tumble (dex) Skill points per paragon level 6+int (X4 at level 1) Hit die for paragon levels: D6 |
| key12-11-07, 04:16 PM | so you like nekogami? i added the fey change and an appearance generator that combines the 7-13 with the 9-16, making it 7-16 Yes. I think they're perfect. :) |
| YamiShinobi12-11-07, 05:50 PM | Yes. I think they're perfect. :) how would you like to playtest one in your next campaign? |
| YamiShinobi12-11-07, 06:54 PM | Why? Since your update, IMO at least it's a great race. Very playable. If anyone had problem with the numbers at this point I'd laugh them off the Interbutt. And while it doesn't have to be Fey, it does make more sense given that they are children of a "cat god" and tied to primordial spirit forces of nature albeit indirectly. Also, nice touch with it being "Neutral Evil". All cats are evil, of course. Selfish, smelly, grouchy little bitey buggers.. thank you. |
| key12-12-07, 01:11 AM | how would you like to playtest one in your next campaign? Sure. I'll try to incorporate as much of the info. that you've laid out. If you have any specific requests/guidance, just let me know. I should be able to get started in either January or February. |

I should be able to get started in either January or February. how would you normally playtest a race? just curious. i would first try it without the 4 paragon levels. good options for class, rogue or some kind of arcane caster. (especially wizard or sorcerer) maybe even an arcane trickster build of sorts. prioritzing dexterity and intellegence, maybe charisma as tirtiary (if sorcerer) if you make any changes, please post them here. |
| key12-14-07, 12:49 PM | how would you normally playtest a race? I've never playtested a race before. :thinks: i would first try it without the 4 paragon levels. Okay. good options for class, rogue or some kind of arcane caster. (especially wizard or sorcerer) maybe even an arcane trickster build of sorts. I was hoping to go rogue. Is that okay? prioritzing dexterity and intellegence, maybe charisma as tirtiary (if sorcerer) Okay. if you make any changes, please post them here. I don't plan on making any changes to what you laid out. But if I have a question about something, I'll post it here. |

| YamiShinobi12-20-07, 12:35 AM | meow? |
| YamiShinobi12-25-07, 10:43 PM | i think i will playtest these, but with the human bonus feat and the cohort |
| YamiShinobi12-25-07, 11:04 PM | please playtest these, if you feel you need variants, go ahead. i posted some for those who want variety, |
| Ryushikaze12-27-07, 10:50 PM | Your variants, simply put, are not. They are additional fluff based around what I can only presume are fictional characters of yours you have a particular yen regarding. Variants are supposed to be about give and take, or non mechanical flavor. What you have suggested is neither. The race as is, isn't so bad aside from the female only thing, but it needs a higher LA, at the very least. Also, until about 14, a human child would not be considered a medium creature. So, you're looking at a small creature, and thus its boosted speed would be 30ft, as opposed to 40. Also, the random bioluminescence makes no sense, even as raw flavor. |

Also, the random bioluminescence makes no sense, even as raw flavor. the youngest hese things are would be 6 or 7, on average 11 or 12, the smallest of these is a little over 4 feet, and the monster manual says that 4 feet is medium in size. so technically, no size loss for you!. the average 6 or 7 year old based on what i've seen is 4 foot 2 inches, the small sized creatures are on average, 2-21/2 feet, a child is bigger than a halfling, (1.5 times the size) anything between 3 and 4 feet is anywhere between, dwarves can be 3 ft 4 and medium size. and children are much more fit than adults at the range of 7-16, or at least until gaming consoles are discovered. size in D&D is a matter of height and weight based on racial steriotypes. so technically the boosted speed would be 40 feet. i removed the overpowered variants. the average child as far as i've seen at that age range was the 3.75-4.75 foot range, monster manual counts that as medium) |
| YamiShinobi01-08-08, 06:51 PM | these are indeed medium size. size category is based on average adult size. these little girls average at 4 ft 4-4 ft 10 |
