| Caled4004-26-07, 11:01 PM | Dragonblood Humans were formed in a cruel experament by a mad scientist/evil priest who drained all of there human blood and replaced it with that of a dragon's, they were then resurrected and began to transform. The transformation was the same for all 150 subjects, which were skin turning to scales, the growth of wings, and hollow bones. Physical description: Besides wings and the scaly skin the Dragon blood humans look the same as normal humans. There average hight is the same as a humans and there there weight is generally about 15% to 30% less than that of his human counter part. The average wight loss of the original humans who were experimented on was 15% the low end wheal the average for a born dragonblood human is 25% closer to the high end. Personality: The Dragonblood humans act almost exactly as a human dose except that some younger ones have some contempt for normal humans because some humans cannot see past the scales and wings. Racial stats: Dragonblood Humans retain all ability's of humans except the below noted The Dragonblood Human can wings are very good at keeping him flying he looses 5ft of hight for every 30 feet forward plus lossing 5ft forward speed for every min gliding He needs to use his mins flying to accelerte and to climb for every 5 feet he dives he accelerates 5ft forward The flight duration of a Dragonblood human is based upon the average of his Str and Con scores 11-12: fly for 1 13-14: fly for 5 15-16: fly for 10 17-18: fly for 15 ect. . How much a dragonblood human can carry wheal flying (or gliding) is determined by his Str score 8-12 light load 13-17 medium load 18+ heavy load . The airborne maneuverability is determined by his dex score -11: clumsy 12-13: poor 14-15: average 16-17: good 18+: perfect . Dragonblood Humans receive x1.5 Bludgeoning damage due to hollow bones. . Favored class: Ranger or Fighter Ok i need your help balancing this class out i don't really want to use a LA I hate them |
| Dean04-27-07, 11:05 AM | Ouch double damage. I kinda like how scores affect their abilities but at the smae time it seems kidna underpowered, sure you can fly but that's about it. Other than that you get a penalty and double damage. |
| The White Sorcerer04-27-07, 11:11 AM | A really bad race. I would never play one. No amount of flight is worth double damage. If you're trying to make an LA +0 flying race, I suggest checking out the raptoran (Races of the Wild) or dragonborn (Races of the Dragon) for examples. |
| Captain_Kobold04-27-07, 11:11 AM | Do you have races of the Dragon? The feats available to Dragonblooded characters in there, particularly the wing-based ones seem perhaps a better option. |
| RobbyPants04-27-07, 11:18 AM | -2 Chr the scaly hide and wings make the Dragonblood human look very strange I have no real problem with the -2 Cha (although dragons do tend to have a high Cha), but I would change the reasoning. Generally speaking, Cha isn't based off of physical apperance so much as force of will. If the dragonblood humans are socially awkward, that would make more sense. The flight duration of a Dragonblood human is based upon the average of his Str and Con scores I would probably just go with a static glide, rather than basing it off of ability scores. You could improve it with hit dice or levels if you want, but that is harder to abuse. Also, you could set gliding up to be based on height (altitude). Perhaps every round (or minute, if you wanted to be nice), they descend 10 feet. The length of a glide would then be deterimined by how high they started. This also helps keep the LA less than 1. Dragonblood Humans receive x2 damage due to hollow bones I would remove the hollow bones part. That will be a killer (literally!). If you keep the glide distance down, then this is largly unecessary. Also if you force them to use their hands while gliding (perhaps helping to spread wings, or wings that are part of their arms), then it nerfs their flight somewhat, keeping them from sniping from the sky. |
| Kraven_Redcloak04-27-07, 04:26 PM | You know I believe Dragon Magic gives you a subspecies of Dragonblood humans called Silverbrow Humans. |
| Caled4004-27-07, 06:42 PM | First off i meant to post that "dragonblood humains take x2 (and now 1.5) Bludgeoning damage" not to all damage that would really be a killer. made some changes and i didn't know about this Dragonblood humans called Silverbrow Humans or this I suggest checking out the raptoran (Races of the Wild) I'll check into them next time I'm in B&N. I don't have races of the dragon but i have read it. I don't like the system of flight in there tho i would rather have it controlled by ability scores. In my campaign we use Com (i can't remember what it stands for but it is basically how good you look) so in my campaign it would be a -2 to Com not Chr but was would you use if you don't use com? Com affects how others react to you in a first impression so it affects diplomacy and such. |
| dragonriderranger04-28-07, 12:45 AM | i love this new race, i am a D&D player and i printed this page out to try when i have to start over :) |

| The White Sorcerer05-08-07, 03:41 PM | No, the fact that you created your account JUST to post in this thread, is why it was obviously staged. ;) Yeah, because people don't lurk. Ever. Unheard of. All people create their accounts well before they ever read the boards. |
