Inspired by Marrow from the Marvel universe.

Please PEACH
Sheathe (Medium Humanoid)
• +2 Constitution, and -2 Wisdom.
• Medium size. As Medium creatures, Sheathes have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
• A Sheathes base land speed is 30 feet.
• Fast Healing (Ex): A Sheathes heals 1 points of damage each round. The Sheathes Fast Heal stops function if the Sheathe is dead.
• Bone Growth (EX): A Sheathes bones can grow on demand, often protruding from there skin and faces. Painfully a Sheathe can pull these growths from there body and use them as weapons, and they can even cover there body making crude boney armor.
Bone Weapon: As a swift action the Sheathe can cause tiny bone spikes to protrude from all over her body, mimicking the effects of Armor Spikes. This cause pain to the Sheathe dealing 1 point of damage. As a swift action the Sheathe can grow one or two spikes that can be removed, and used as daggers. This deals 2 points of damage per dagger created. As a swift action the Sheathe can grow large piece of bone that mimics a Short sword. This deals 3 points of damage. These weapons are treated as magic weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.the Bone weapons are permanent, but become dry and brittle after 24 hours, crumbling if used to attack.
Bone Armor: As a move action a Sheathe can grow boney armor that covers most of her body. Providing a Natural Armor bonus equal up to half the Sheathes hit dies rounded down (minimum of 1). This armor does not hinder the Sheathes movement in anyway. Growing the armor causes excruciating pain dealing 2 points of damage per 1 point of natural armor gained. After 24 hours the armor becomes dry and brittle. once this happens, the armor no longer provides a Natural armore bonus and begings to flake off.
• Level Adjustment +2.
• Favored Class: Fighter.

Bone Weapon: As a free action the Sheathe can cause tiny bone spikes to protrude from all over her body, mimicking the effects of Armor Spikes. This cause pain to the Sheathe dealing 1 point of damage. As a free action the Sheathe can grow one or two spikes that can be removed, and used as daggers. This deals 2 points of damage per dagger created. As a move action the Sheathe can grow large piece of bone that mimics a Short sword. This deals 3 points of damage. These weapons are permanent, but can be regrown as needed.
Bone Tool: the Sheathe can also use this ability to mimic other tools and items. Ulimetly up to your DM the Sheathes could mimic a Ring, a crude lock picking set, a caltrop, and other simple tools that could be made of bone. The damage casued by this is also decided by the DM, as it depends on the size and shape of the object.
• Level Adjustment +2.
• Favored Class: Fighter.

Ok, first things first. Remove the Bone tool ability. Its going to end up really funky. Some people will try and argue for hours about what can and what cannot be made of bone and the kind of damage it will deal. And even if they could make some tools out of bone with the ability, they're made of bone, how good do you think they would really be?

Now we come to the awesomeness (I really do like this concept). The weapons from bone are sweet. You do realize that weapons made of bone have penalties attached to them, although I don't think this is in the SRD. This might only be in Dark Sun. Thats the last time I ever remember weapons and armor being made of bone was important. Maybe those penalties generally aren't around.

The only problem with the bone weapons and armor abilities is, the free actions. Don't do free actions to swift actions. You could even make it immediate actions. The free action thing is too abusable. You could make it like 4 daggers, 2 swords, or 1 greatsword. With a single immediate/swift action. The boney armor also needs to, after a period of time sloth off or become brittle and useless. This will actually make it meaningful to regrow the armor more than once per level.

I also think maybe a readjustment of the ability mods, maybe -2 Dex +4 Con, -2 Wis. I just feel that flavor wise the incredibly fast bone growth would make them less limber with calcium deposits abundant.

They black robes and have racial weapon proficiency with the dagger, the scimitar, the scythe, and the hand crossbow. Their skin is very pale and dry, often flaky. They get gray hair faster than the other races, and blonds and redheads are almost nonexistent among them.

Reminds me of Kimmimaro from Naruto, whose bloodline trait was all sorts of bone-related things.

ZerianTheKeeper, would you mind if I did a flavor write up along with the rules? I really love this race, and I'd like to write the flavor for it too if you don't want to and don't mind.

Awesome! Just one thing I'd like to know, what alignment would you like them to tend toward?

Nice race, really needs a bit more development. I'm going to try it out in a campaign as an npc first to see if I like the 'taste' of this new race. With the modifications mentioned by previous posters.

Sheathe

Personality: The Sheathe are brash and act before they think. Their hardy bodies and quick healing abilities let them make many mistakes. They often take the wrong path several times just on principle due to their stubborn nature. This doesn't mean they won't listen to reason and although stubborn at times they can be pretty personable at times.

Physical Description: Sheathe are thick and tall. Standing between 5'10 and 6'5. Along with their height they usually weigh much more than someone of their size normally would. The average weight for a Sheathe is 250 to 300 pounds although, unlike many other people claim, it is solely bone based weight. The Sheathe also posses white swimming eyes and many bony protrusions all over their bodies.

Relations: Sheathe enjoy a good time and don't see many problems with other races, with one exception. Elves. The Sheathe see elves as snobby, up-tight, physically frail, and mentally stunted

Alignment: Sheathe tend towards a chaotic alignment. Most tend to be Chaotic Good.

Religion: Sheathe usually pray to dwarven gods thinking themselves as hardier and more worthy of the deities patronage. This isn't malicious as it is more a healthy competition with dwarves.

Language: Sheathe speak common and undercommon. They use undercommon as a semi-secret language between one another.

Names: Sheathe names tend to be short, most names often have many Ms, As, and Ws (Example: Naawarm, Aamhaw, and Mamwo.)

Adventures: Sheathe adventure out of a sense for righting a wrong or to discover personal truths.

Sheathe (Medium Humanoid)

• Medium size. As Medium creatures, Sheathes have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
• A Sheathes base land speed is 30 feet.
• Fast Healing (Ex): A Sheathes heals 1 points of damage each round. The Sheathes Fast Heal stops functioning if the Sheathe is dead.
• Bone Growth (EX): A Sheathes can grow bones on demand, they normally protrude from their skin and face. Although the process is painful a Sheathe can pull these growths from there body and use them as weapons, and they can even cover there body making crude bony armor.
Bone Spikes: As a swift action the Sheathe can cause tiny bone spikes to protrude from its body, mimicking the effects of Armor Spikes. This cause pain to the Sheathe dealing 1 point of damage.
Bone Weapon: As a swift action the Sheathe can grow spikes that can be removed and used as weapons. By taking 2 points of damage the Sheathe can create, as a swift action, either two daggers or a single short sword. These weapons are treated as magic weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction and count as steel weapons for the purpose of penalties for weapons made of bone. The bone weapons are temporary but become dry and brittle after 24 hours and crumble.
Bone Armor: As a move action a Sheathe can grow bonyy armor that covers most of her body. Providing a Natural Armor bonus equal up to half the Sheathes hit dies rounded down (minimum of 1). This armor does not hinder the Sheathes movement in anyway. Growing the armor causes excruciating pain dealing 2 points of damage per 1 point of natural armor gained. After 24 hours the armor becomes dry and brittle. once this happens, the armor no longer provides a natural armor bonus and begings to flake off.

Fast Healing 1 is just a +1. The other half of that LA is from the unbalanced Ability score modifiers for the race.
