Nymph Paladin [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-08-07, 07:26 PM I have a question would a nymph's unearthly grace stack with the paladin's divine grace class feature or is it one or the other? And could a nymph without the divine grace feature take the "gift of grace" feat even though it requires the divine grace feature?:confused:

10-08-07, 07:47 PM I don't think the two should be allowed to stack, and I would not let Unearthly Grace act as a substitute for Divine Grace for the purpose of feats that specifically require the later.

That said, the fact that they have such a ridiculous charisma bonus means that nymphs still make awesome paladins.

10-08-07, 08:25 PM If you could only take those racial HD and the LA away :P . Yet... paladin? With 7 levels of druid casting, I'd be more interested in making her a sorcerer/arcane hierophant. YMMV :)

10-08-07, 09:20 PM As typeless bonuses, they both stack. There's nothing by the rules from preventing it.

I wouldn't consider it too overpowered; you have a hefty price to pay in the form of Racial Hit Dice and Level Adjustment.

Just go rogue for some evasion, and hexblade for mettle. Lol casters eat your heart out :P

Better yet, two levels of monk for evasion. All three of your saves will get +3 instead of just Ref.

Granted, I think this character would suck in almost every other fashion, but if you're looking to win an award for the highest saves, this guy (gal) would certainly be competitive. ;)

True - she would have virtually no offensive power save for 2 gaze attacks with sub-par save dcs (and very selective targeting), poor combat prowess and mediocre spellcasting. :(

10-19-07, 11:57 PM The problem is with unnamed bonuses, for which there is no excuse from the designers beyond laziness IMO.

If Nymph Pals are a problem for you then name the bonus from Divine Grace and Unearthly Grace, like Insight or Sacred, and your problem is solved.
Otherwise, stack away.

At any time this could be errata'd but it's not. :rolleyes:
