mltryman 08-11-07, 12:25 AM	Hi i'm new here and after watching some odd ball movies with my kids i had an idea for a very very unique DnD character, which is where you all come into play helping me out. ***yes this will be gestalt and probably epic*** IDEA: * Using an empowered intensified awakened frog as a PC * Said frog pc uses his tongue to deliver touch attacks to foes. * Of course i'd love to find a way to extend the reach of his tongue further then usual. * As for class development i was thinking using monk as one side of the gestalt would help to give him unarmed damage with his tongue and using weapon finesse to compensate for any issue with strength. * while on the other side of the gestalt using psion with a metabolism discipline i think Okay, so with all that said... i'm looking to you all to aquire help in getting the correct stats for such a frog (the toad isn't very informative and mentions nothing of its tongue). Also, i would love to hear input on builds using the gestalt combo i mentioned as a base to the build. I have no idea what magic items / psionic items to use for this build, although of course everything would be re-sized for a diminutive stature. ***any other oddball builds would be helpful. NO book is offlimits as i have access to damn near anything and everything d20, with the exception of obviously no modern or future. thanks!
Orchomenos 08-11-07, 03:20 PM	This is odd, but interesting. :P :cool: The first thing that comes to mind is the Boneclaw (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20040905a&page=2)from MMIII. It's a large undead, with nothing to do with a monk, a psion nor a frog, he even has no tongue. However, he has an interesting ability called Reaching Claws: Reaching Claws (Ex): A bone-claw can make melee attacks with its bone claws, instantly extending them as part of an attack to a distance of up to 20 feet (thereby allowing the boneclaw to threaten more squares than even its Large size would otherwise indicate). Your frog's tongue could have a similar ability. It could be worth a few (racial) feats, for example one feat to give you a 5' reach (allowing the frog to threaten the surrounding squares), another one for a 10' reach, another one for 15' reach... I would also suggest you to throw an eye at the Psionic Fist (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/psionicFist.html)PrC. It's a mix of Monk and Psychic Warrior. But since you will be gestalt, perhaps will it not be allowed...

periscope 08-11-07, 11:33 PM	There is a chameleon template in the Underdark book. One of the features is a 10 ft long tongue, and it specifically says that you can use it for touch spells (and Id houserule any "touch" abilities too). It also grants a climb speed (you could say that its a tree frog) and bonuses to hide and move silently. All this for a +1 LA.
