Outsider without +LA? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Alright - let me cut to the chase. :)
I'm looking for one of two things here;

1) A race or template that gives proficiency with all martial weapons by virtue of the type it grants, but does not impose a level adjustment. I named the post "Outsider..." because I know they get free proficiency with all martial weapons.

2) Any other way for, let's say a Wu Jen, to gain proficiency in all martial weapons without actually having to multiclass?

Is there any way to achieve the above realistically?
Any possible solutions have eluded me so far.

Thanks!

1) A planetouched is an outsider, but both Tiefling and Aasimar are +1 LA. The lesser planetouched don't have LA, but I don't know if they're still outsider though...

2) Gestalt?

EDIT: After finding another thread about the Lesser Aasimar, I can confirm that they are not outsider, so they loose proeficiency in all martial weapon.

There's an idea! Out of curiosity, which book has the Otherwordly feat? Without something like this, I was going to say you're SOL in terms of the Lesser Planetouched; they're not outsiders. I think that a lot of the +1 LA of the Planetouched comes from their type, as it makes them exempt from many effects that target humanoids.

Yes, I'm likewise curious as to the origin of Otherworldly. :)

Also, the lesser plane-touched are all from the Realms books, right? I'm not sure I remember where they were from, only that the last time I tried to petition one to my DM compared to a standard races their response was something like "Hell no!"

Hmmm... (considers the options now)

Savage Progressions has LA +0 versions (http://wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20040213a). And you don't have to actually get the LA. Did I mention that you're still an outsider?

There's a regional feat in PGtF (Militia) that grants you Martial Weapon Proficiency for everything. That book also has Otherworldly (another regional feat).

Neraphim are LA +0 outsiders in the Planar Handbook. Hope you don't mind looking like a frog.
